Is it worth the money?

When it is open, it is a sensible hotel breakfast, and the bottomless drinks are the reason adults choose it over the lobby coffee bar.

$21.25 on average for a hot breakfast sits below the breakfast buffets on Crescent Lake — Cape May Cafe is $49 for adults — but you are not getting characters or a buffet.

It does not take Disney money. Disney's page says Garden Grove "does not participate in any of the Disney dining plans and does not accept MagicBands, Disney Gift Cards or any other Disney stored value cards." The Swan is Marriott-operated.

And it is seasonal. The Swan describes it as open seasonally and currently on summer break. Its evening sister restaurants keep regular hours. Garden Grove is the one to check first.

What is actually good

Check it is open before you go. On 12 September 2026 the Swan and Dolphin's own page read: "Open seasonally — currently on summer break!" Disney's schedule the same day listed Garden Grove operating 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM on every date into November. The operator runs the restaurant; its page is the one to believe. Neither gives a reopening date.

What follows is the breakfast menu Disney publishes for it, read the same day.

Twelve hot dishes, $17 to $32, averaging $21.25. Buttermilk pancakes and Smokin' D's biscuits and gravy with two eggs are $17. A Taylor Pork Roll sandwich on a New York bagel is $18 and a Belgian waffle $19. Avocado toast is $20. Eggs Benedict, two eggs any style, and peaches-and-cream French toast are $21 each. A croque madame is $22, a three-egg omelet $23, and shrimp and grits $24. Steak and eggs with an 8oz strip is $32.

Five continental plates, $8 to $11 — grits, steel-cut oatmeal, fruit, overnight oats and a parfait. Sides are $4 to $6. The kids' plates are $10.

Bottomless drinks are $26 within 90 minutes of ordering, against $12 each for a mimosa, sangria, John Daly or Bloody Mary. Three rounds and it has paid for itself.

Disney's description is out of date. It still promises "Disney Character Dining and themed buffets". The menu it publishes is à la carte, with no buffet and no character pricing. The Disney Food Blog reported in February 2020 that the Swan's character dinner had ended. Neither Disney nor the Swan says whether characters will return when Garden Grove reopens.

Portions

Diner-sized breakfasts. The pancakes come four to a plate, the biscuits and gravy with two eggs and home fries, and the omelet uses three eggs. A continental plate is a snack, not a meal.

Allergies and dietary needs

Plain, workable breakfast food. Steel-cut oatmeal is marked gluten-free on the menu, and there is a vegan sausage side at $5. Avocado toast, the fruit, the parfait and the overnight oats cover vegetarians. Taylor Pork Roll and ham turn up in more dishes than their names suggest, including as omelet toppings.
