Privacy
The short version
We do not run analytics, we do not set tracking cookies, we do not show ads, and we do not collect your email address. You do not need an account to read anything here.
What the server records, and for how long
Like every web server, ours keeps an access log: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and the browser identifier your browser sends. Our host, InMotion Hosting, keeps these so the site can be run and protected from abuse. We use them for that and nothing else, and we do not sell or share them. The logs are archived once a month, and each month’s archive is deleted 90 days after that month ends.
Cookies
Readers get none. Two exist, and both are for our own editors: the sign-in session for the admin, and a preview cookie that lets an editor see a page before it is published.
Videos and images
Our YouTube videos play through youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookies until you press play. Once you do, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies. The still image shown before you press play comes from YouTube’s image server, which sees your IP address as any image host would. Our own photos are served from our storage bucket at Backblaze, which receives an ordinary request for the file and nothing more.
Links to other sites
We link to Disney and to the outlets we cite. Once you follow a link, that site’s policy applies, not ours.
We do not run an email list. If we ever start one, this page will say what we collect and which service holds it before a single address is taken, and the list will not be sold or shared.
The open data API
Anyone can use our data API without a key. Requests to it are logged exactly like page requests, for the same reasons and for the same 90 days.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.
