Is it worth the money?

Yes, if you want sushi and you come early. After 9:30 PM it is a different place, and whether that is better depends on you.

It is two restaurants in one evening. From 5:30 PM it is a quiet sushi bar. From 9:30 PM, the operator's page lists karaoke until close. Diners who want to talk book the first hour; diners who want to sing come late.

The prices are sushi-bar prices, not Disney signature prices. Signature rolls average $22.90. Two rolls and a starter between two people comes to roughly $65 before drinks. That is less than most Crescent Lake dinners, with nothing on the menu above $42.

Disney's page carries the Swan's payment rule. Kimonos "does not participate in any of the Disney dining plans and does not accept MagicBands, Disney Gift Cards or any other Disney stored value cards." The hotel is Marriott-operated. Bring a normal card.

It has a following. AllEars reviewed it in February 2026 under a headline asking whether it serves Disney World's best sushi. That is their verdict to make; ours is on the menu and the rules, not the rice.

What is actually good

Read from the Swan and Dolphin's own dinner menu on 12 September 2026. Disney's menu page for Kimonos would not load that day, so the operator's printed menu is the source.

Ten signature rolls, $18 to $36, averaging $22.90. The Spider Roll and Coconut Shrimp Roll are $18. The Spicy Rainbow, Jalapeño and Alaskan rolls are $20, the Kimonos Roll $21 and the Dragon Roll $23. The Swando Roll is $25 and the Mojo Verde $28. The Surf & Turf Roll, with blue crab and A5 Japanese wagyu, is $36.

Twelve small plates, $11 to $28, averaging $19.83. Edamame is $11, gyoza $13 and karaage chicken $15. Hamachi carpaccio is $19 and the crispy pan-seared rice with spicy tuna is $22. Wagyu beef skewers are $25, and crispy pork ribs and a Hokkaido scallop crudo are $28 each.

Six classic maki, $12 to $16. Cucumber-avocado and a vegetarian summer roll are $12, the tuna roll $14. Hand rolls are three for $32 — salmon, hamachi, spicy tuna or charred eel. A nigiri sampler is $29.

Nigiri and sashimi are priced by the piece count: two pieces of nigiri or three of sashimi. Fresh salmon is $10 or $15, tuna $12 or $16, and Hokkaido scallop $25 or $27. The torched section peaks at A5 wagyu, $42.

Six soups and salads, $9 to $20. Miso soup is $9, and a crab sunomono or California chop-chop bowl is $20.

Read the service-charge line. The menu says: "A taxable 18% Staff Service Charge is added to parties of 6 or more, or where the check is not settled prior to departure." It adds that "additional gratuities are not expected". A table of six should not tip a second time on top.

Portions

Sushi-bar portions, and every starter is a shared plate. There is no entrée to anchor the meal, so plan on two or three items each. The hand rolls, three for $32, are the most efficient way to eat here alone.

Allergies and dietary needs

The gluten labelling contradicts itself, and coeliacs should not rely on it. The operator's menu puts its gluten-free icon on the hand rolls, most nigiri, the Cucumber Avocado Roll and the Mojo Verde Roll. The same menu's footnote says: "Sushi Rice contains gluten." Every one of those items is made with sushi rice. Both statements cannot be true. Ask to speak to the kitchen, and assume the rice contains gluten until told otherwise.

For vegetarians there is edamame, miso soup, spring rolls, two salads, the cucumber-avocado roll and a vegetarian summer roll — enough for a light meal, but not a large one. Raw fish runs through most of the menu, and the menu marks those items.
