Is it worth the money?
For the room and the effects, yes, once. Flamingo in Fantasyland, updated for 2026, still calls it the most Disney experience outside the parks. Disney Tourist Blog's review from its opening found the effects great but repetitive when the same drink is ordered every ten minutes.
The real cost is getting in. The Grotto seats about 50, according to Flamingo in Fantasyland, which says anyone not on the list within the first 10 minutes after the 11am opening should expect a wait of 2 hours or more. Disney itself says it fills up quickly and may require a wait. Cocktails at $16.50 to $28.50 are priced like other Disney lounges; the souvenir mugs are where it gets expensive.
Who it’s right for
Tiki and Jungle Cruise fans, and anyone with a free afternoon near Magic Kingdom who can get on the list early. Families before 8pm.
Who it’s wrong for
Anyone wanting a quiet drink or a proper meal, and families after 8pm, when it is 21 and over only.
What is actually good
The drinks are the show. The Uh-Oa! at $28.50 is the one that sets off a storm across the room, Flamingo in Fantasyland says. The Polynesian Pearl, $24.50, comes with a pearl to keep, and the Nautilus, $65, is a shared bowl for two or more.
The HippopotoMai-Tai, Zombie and Krakatoa Punch are $19.50, the Spikey Pineapple blended with Dole Whip $17.50, and a rum flight $22. The alcohol-free drinks, among them the Skipper Sipper and Schweitzer Falls, are $6.50, and beer is $9.25 to $12.75.
Food is seven small plates, served from 11am to 10pm: kalua pork tacos $11.50, pan-fried dumplings $12, yuca fries with plant-based beef $14, spicy honey pork wings and a Thai chicken flatbread $15, a shrimp and plantain roll $18 and a tuna roll $19. Small plates for sharing with drinks, not a meal. Most people come for one or two drinks and a round of effects.

Limited. The yuca fries come with plant-based beef, and the rest of the food is meat or fish. There are three alcohol-free cocktails. Ask a cast member about allergies.

- Is Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace open?
- Not as of 13 September 2026: Disney's page says the outdoor Tiki Terrace is closed for refurbishment. Flamingo in Fantasyland had reported a refurbishment through June 2026, so it has run longer than that. The terrace serves the same menu without the indoor effects.
- Does Trader Sam's take the Disney Dining Plan?
- No. Disney's page says dining plan meals are not accepted. It is open from 11:00am to 12:00am, with food served until 10pm.
