Table service
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'
The short answer
Disney Springs' most consistently busy restaurant, and the fried chicken is why. Art's Famous Fried Chicken is $34, the moonshine-soaked Shine Cake is $13, and it books through OpenTable rather than Disney — which is the single most useful thing to know about it.

Is it worth the money?
For the chicken, yes. For everything else, it depends how much you mind queueing.
The fried chicken is genuinely very good and it is the best version of that dish on Disney property. At $34 it is priced like a Disney entree and cooked like a restaurant's, which is a better trade than it sounds.
What you are also buying is a Disney Springs meal, which means no park ticket, free parking and free transport — the cheapest way to eat well on property without spending a park day on it.
The catch is demand. This is among the hardest walk-ups at Disney Springs and the waits at peak run long. It also takes reservations through OpenTable and its own site rather than through Disney's system, which means the people diligently refreshing My Disney Experience at 60 days are looking in the wrong place.
Who it’s right for
Anyone on a Disney Springs evening who wants one properly cooked meal without a park ticket. Groups, who can share the chicken. Anyone who has eaten a week of theme park food and wants something cooked to order. And bourbon and moonshine drinkers, for whom the bar is a genuine draw.
Who it’s wrong for
Vegetarians and vegans, who are an afterthought on this menu. Anyone wanting a quiet meal — it is loud, deliberately. Anyone who has not booked, at peak times. And anyone eating before a park day, because this is a meal that ends the evening rather than starting one.
What is actually good
Art's Famous Fried Chicken at $34 is the dish, and the reason the queue exists. Buttermilk-brined, fried to order, and served with mashed potatoes and greens.
Fried Chicken and Doughnuts at $32 is the same chicken with glazed doughnuts and mashed potatoes, and it is the order people either love or find too much before a day of walking. Thigh High Chicken Biscuits at $20 is the cheapest route to the same chicken.
Starters: Bee Haven Bay Fried Green Tomatoes at $16, Church Lady Deviled Eggs at $13, and the biscuits at $9, which are the thing to order while deciding.
The Shine Cake at $13 is a butter cake soaked in moonshine syrup and is adults-only for that reason.
The Southern Shine bar is a real moonshine list rather than a theme, and it is a large part of why the room is loud. Prices checked 9 September 2026.
Portions
Large, in the Southern tradition, and the fried chicken defeats people regularly. Two adults can share the fried chicken and a starter and leave full. The doughnuts version is a dessert wearing a main course's price.
Allergies and dietary needs
The weakest part. This is a fried-chicken restaurant run as an operating participant, and vegetarians are served rather than catered for. Coeliac guests should ask carefully, because the fryer is doing most of the work in this kitchen. Disney's standard allergy process does not apply here in the way it does at a Disney-run restaurant.
Common questions
- How do you book Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'?
- Not through Disney. It takes reservations on its own site and through OpenTable, or by phone on 407-939-5277. This is the most common mistake people make with it — searching My Disney Experience, finding nothing, and assuming it is full. Reservations are strongly recommended for dinner and weekend brunch.
- How much is Homecomin' at Disney Springs?
- Art's Famous Fried Chicken is $34 and Fried Chicken and Doughnuts is $32. Starters run $9 to $16 and the Shine Cake is $13. Expect about $50 a head with a starter, before drinks and gratuity. Prices checked 9 September 2026.
- Is the fried chicken worth it?
- It is the best fried chicken on Disney property and it is cooked to order rather than held. At $34 with mashed potatoes and greens it is priced like any Disney entree and made considerably better than most. If you order one thing here, order that.
- Do you need a park ticket for Homecomin'?
- No. It is at Disney Springs, which is free to enter, free to park at, and served by free Disney buses and boats from the resorts. That makes it one of the better options for an arrival night or a rest day when nobody has a park ticket in hand.
- What is the Shine Cake?
- Chef Art Smith's signature dessert — a butter cake soaked in moonshine syrup, $13, and adults-only because of the alcohol. It is very sweet and easily shared between two. The Southern Shine bar it comes from is a real moonshine programme rather than a decorative theme.
