Coral Reef Restaurant
The short answer
Closed for maintenance from 8 September 2026; Disney's booking schedule shows it open again from 4 November. Coral Reef sits against the 5.7-million-gallon aquarium in The Seas at EPCOT, so you eat beside sharks, rays and turtles. Dinner only, entrées $28 to $45. You are paying for the window, and where you sit decides whether you get one.

Is it worth the money?
For the aquarium, once. The food is competent and priced like a signature restaurant without being one — $38 for shrimp fettuccine is EPCOT-adjacent pricing rather than value. What you are actually buying is forty-five minutes beside an aquarium that people queue to walk past, with a seat and air conditioning, which for a family in July is a different calculation from the food alone.
The window is the whole point and not every table has one. Tables are tiered, and the back row sits far enough from the glass that the fish become scenery rather than the meal. Ask when you check in; the cast members are candid about the wait for a lower tier and it is often only a few minutes.
Who it’s right for
Families with a child who will not sit still anywhere else — the aquarium holds them for the length of a meal. Anyone wanting a table-service seat in EPCOT without the 60-day scramble that Space 220 and Le Cellier demand. Plant-based diners, who get real entrées on the printed menu rather than an off-menu improvisation.
Who it’s wrong for
Anyone judging it on the food alone at these prices — $38 for shrimp fettuccine is signature money for a casual kitchen. Anyone with a severe shellfish allergy, in a seafood room where the kitchen will tell you the same. And anyone unwilling to ask for a lower tier: seated at the back you are paying the aquarium price for a view of other diners.
What is actually good
Read from Disney's own dinner menu on 10 September 2026. Entrées run $28 to $45: Coastal Palm Cakes $28 (plant-based), Mojo Chicken $32, Grilled Snapper $35, Seafood Macaroni & Cheese $38, Shrimp Fettuccine $38, Guava-braised Short Rib $39, Surf and Turf $45. Appetisers $12 to $20 — the Lobster Bisque at $14 is the one regulars order. Desserts $10 to $11. Children's entrées $13 to $14.
Disney's own structured data describes this restaurant as "$15 to $34.99 per adult". Five of the seven entrées cost more than the top of that band. Treat the band as a category label rather than a price.
Portions
Entrée-sized rather than generous, which is worth knowing at $38. The Seafood Macaroni & Cheese is the exception and the one dish people report struggling to finish. Appetisers are small enough that a table of four ordering two to share is the usual pattern rather than one each.
Allergies and dietary needs
Plant-based options are on the printed menu rather than on request — the Coastal Palm Cakes at $28 and the Chocolate Mousse Bar are both marked. Allergy handling follows the standard Disney process: declare it when booking and a chef comes to the table. A seafood restaurant is an awkward room for a severe shellfish allergy and the kitchen will say so.
Common questions
- Can you request a table by the aquarium at Coral Reef?
- You can ask, and it is worth asking. The dining room is tiered and only the lower rows sit against the glass; the back is far enough away that the aquarium becomes background. Mention it when you check in rather than when you book — the wait for a lower tier is usually a few minutes and cast members will tell you honestly how long.
- Does Coral Reef serve lunch?
- No, not currently. Disney's lunch menu URL redirects to the dinner menu, and the restaurant runs a single dinner service. That is a change from earlier years, when it served both.
- How much does Coral Reef cost?
- Entrées were $28 to $45 on Disney's own menu in September 2026, with appetisers $12 to $20 and desserts around $10. An adult having one course is roughly $38; with a starter or dessert and a drink it lands nearer $60 before tip.
- Is Coral Reef good for children?
- The aquarium does most of the work, and it does it well — children who will not sit still for a table-service meal anywhere else will sit for this one. The children's menu is short, with entrées at $13 to $14, and the room is loud enough that a restless four-year-old is not the loudest thing in it.
- Is the fish you eat from the aquarium?
- No, and Disney is asked this constantly. Nothing served comes from the tank. The Seas does raise fish elsewhere in the pavilion — around 5,000 lb a year across the property — but the aquarium beside you is a display and a conservation facility, not a larder.
