Is it worth the money?
For the view, yes — and the view is genuinely the product.
This is one of a handful of EPCOT tables actually facing World Showcase Lagoon, which makes it a fireworks seat as well as a dinner, and that is why it books out when San Angel Inn across the plaza does not. The cooking is good and not the reason people are here.
Two restaurants, one pavilion, opposite experiences. San Angel Inn is inside the pyramid: dark, cool, a lit volcano across an indoor river, entrées $20 to $54 and a real vegetarian option. La Hacienda is the bright building outside on the water: a lagoon view, no vegetarian main, and a higher floor on the menu. People book one meaning the other.
Dinner only. Lunch at the Mexico pavilion is San Angel Inn or the quick-service window; this room does not open for it.
Ask about the window when you book, not when you arrive. Waterside tables cannot be requested in advance and are assigned at the podium, exactly as at San Angel Inn — and here the difference between a window and an inside table is the whole reason for the price.
Who it’s right for
Anyone who wants a lagoon-facing table in World Showcase and will pay for it. Groups of three or more, who can order a Parrillada at $80 and eat better per head than ordering singly. Anyone timing dinner to end near the fireworks. People who find San Angel Inn's permanent darkness oppressive.
Who it’s wrong for
Vegetarians — there is no main for you, and San Angel Inn across the plaza has one. Anyone budgeting from Disney's $15 to $34.99 band — six of the nine single mains cost more than $34.99. Anyone wanting lunch. And anyone who wants the atmospheric Mexico restaurant, which is the other one.
What is actually good

Nine mains for one person, $32 to $54, averaging $39.11. Enchiladas de Chorizo $32, Pollo Poblano and Tacos de Camarón at $33, Tacos al Pastor $35, Alambre $36, Beef Brisket Tacos $38, then Pescado del Día $42, Osso Buco a la Mexicana $49 and Carne Asada — an ancho-agave marinated New York strip — at $54.
Three sharing dishes sit well above those: Parrillada del Mar and Parrillada La Hacienda at $80 each, and a Cowboy Ribeye for Two at $112. They are priced for two or more and counting them as ordinary mains would distort any average, so the figures here exclude them and say so.
Seven starters, $10 to $17: totopos $10, ensalada and empanada de chorizo $15, guacamole and flautas and queso fundido $16, carne asada tlayuda $17. Sides are genuinely cheap for EPCOT — plantains, rice and beans at $5, esquites $7, cotija mash $8, seasonal mushrooms $9.
Desserts $10 to $12, apart from a Celebration Cake at $39, which is a whole cake ordered for a table rather than a slice.
Disney bands this restaurant $$, "$15 to $34.99 per adult". Six of the nine single-diner mains cost more than that ceiling, and the cheapest thing on the menu that is not a taco or a starter is $32.
Portions
Substantial, and the two Parrilladas at $80 are mixed grills built to share across a table rather than large plates for one. The Cowboy Ribeye at $112 is explicitly for two. Among the single portions the tacos are the lighter end and the Carne Asada at $54 is a full steak with asparagus and poblano gratin potatoes.
Allergies and dietary needs
Weaker than its neighbour. There is no vegetarian main on the printed menu — the lightest options are starters, the totopos at $10 and the guacamole at $16, and the sides. San Angel Inn inside the pyramid has a proper vegetarian entrée and this does not, which is worth knowing before booking the one with the view. Allergies go through Disney's standard chef-to-table process.
