Is it worth the money?
Yes, and it is the character meal to book if you only book one. The food is materially better than Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace at a similar price, the safari outfits appear nowhere else, and it gets you a sit-down air-conditioned hour in the middle of Animal Kingdom, which that park badly needs. You need park admission, so it cannot substitute for a resort meal.
Who it’s right for
Families booking exactly one character meal. The food is materially better than the other buffet character meals, the African-influenced menu gives adults something to eat, and Animal Kingdom mornings are the easiest to schedule around.
Who it’s wrong for
Anyone hoping for a calm meal — it is loud, busy and relentlessly cheerful. Guests who want the characters without a buffet, or a buffet without the characters, are paying for half of something they did not want.
What is actually good
Buffet character dining at roughly $52 per adult at breakfast and $64 at lunch and dinner, plus tax and gratuity. Genuinely the best food of any character buffet at Walt Disney World — the African-influenced dishes are the reason, not the characters.
