Is it worth the money?
Yes. Moderate prices, a Magic Kingdom view, and every outlet review we found from opening to 2026 recommends it. Disney Tourist Blog put it on its list of the best restaurants at Walt Disney World for 2026.
The burger is the order. Wandering in Disney wrote in August 2025 that the Wayfinder burger rivals Steakhouse 71's for best burger at Walt Disney World.
Time it for the fireworks. Disney Tourist Blog says evening visits catch Happily Ever After over Cinderella Castle, and the Electrical Water Pageant on the lagoon.
Reservations changed in December 2025. It opened on 17 December 2024 as walk-up only, and Wandering in Disney confirmed that in August 2025. Disney opened advance reservations on 3 December 2025, for dates from 4 December, per Disney Food Blog. Disney's page now lists both reservations and a walk-up waitlist at the podium. Older guides that call it walk-up only are out of date. In April 2026 Disney Tourist Blog said reservations were highly recommended, with limited walk-up availability.
What reviewers criticise: small protein portions, a disappointing kids' mac and cheese, and some underwhelming cocktails — all from Disney Food Blog at opening. Wandering in Disney disliked Island Tower's architecture but not the restaurant.
The roof works are done. Disney Tourist Blog reported exterior roofing work from 23 April to late June 2026, with no seating before 5 pm while it ran. Nothing in Disney's closure schedule affects Wailulu as of 12 September 2026.
As a bar, the lists rate it highly too. It is fourth in Disney Tourist Blog's ranking of the best bars and lounges at Walt Disney World, which calls it its new favourite lounge, fourth at Magic-Ally Main Treats and seventh at Ziggy Knows Disney. That puts it fifth on our combination of four published bar rankings.
Who it’s right for
Anyone who wants a Magic Kingdom fireworks view without a signature-restaurant bill. Burger lovers. Vegetarians. Families, with a proper kids' menu at $10.50 to $13.50.
Who it’s wrong for
Anyone who wants large portions of meat for the price. Anyone planning to drive over without a reservation, since Polynesian parking is for reservation holders only. Anyone expecting a quiet, formal dinner.
What is actually good
Read from Disney's own lunch and dinner menus for Wailulu on 12 September 2026. The two are identical.
Twelve mains, $18 to $33, averaging $24.33. Three chow mein salads — teriyaki chicken or tofu at $18, shrimp at $22 — and three poke bowls — chicken or tofu at $22, ahi tuna at $26. Pineapple barbecue chicken sliders are $19. The Wayfinder burger, two pressed patties with onion jam and volcano sauce, is $23. Garlic shrimp noodles are $26, and a kālua pork shank $31. The grilled fish of the day in green curry is $32, and a short rib loco moco $33.
Seven starters, $11 to $18, averaging $14.29. Shishito peppers are $11, spam musubi and sweet potato hummus $12, and wings and sticky pork ribs $15. Ahi tuna crisps are $17, and grilled octopus $18.
Three desserts, $8 to $12: a Dole Whip sundae, chocolate cake with salted caramel ganache, and a Tahitian vanilla crème brûlée.
Prices have not moved since it opened. Disney Food Blog reviewed it on 18 December 2024, the day after opening. The burger was $23, musubi $12, tuna crisps $17, loco moco $33 and fish $32 — all the same today.
Disney's allergy-friendly menu does not match its main menu. It prints the shishito peppers at $18 against $11 on the main menu. It also lists a garlic shrimp starter at $16 and a marinated pork chop at $31, neither of which is on the main menu. The garlic shrimp was on the opening menu.
Breakfast is separate: Disney runs grab-and-go breakfast from 7:00 to 11:00 AM, which it lists as a quick-service location.
Disney bands it $$, "$15 to $34.99 per adult". The mains average of $24.33 sits inside it.
Portions
Modest on the proteins. Disney Food Blog noted at opening that the garlic shrimp brought three shrimp for $16, and that the $32 fish portion was small. The starters are built to share, and Wandering in Disney recommended ordering several for the table.
Allergies and dietary needs
Good for vegetarians and plant-leaning diners. Tofu is offered in both a chow mein salad and a poke bowl, and the shishito peppers and sweet potato hummus are meat-free. Disney prints an allergy-friendly version of almost every dish, with the allergens each is for, and says you must speak to a cast member about the request.
