Is it worth the money?
Yes, with a caveat about what it is competing against.
Animal Kingdom's table-service options are thin — Tiffins at signature prices, Tusker House as a character buffet, and this. Yak & Yeti is the middle option and it is the one most people should take, because it is air-conditioned, it is not a buffet, and lunch here is the most comfortable hour available in a park that is punishing in the afternoon.
The cooking is good rather than remarkable. What you are also buying is the room, which is one of the better pieces of theming Disney has handed to an outside operator — a Nepalese hotel decaying convincingly, full of real imported furniture rather than a set.
At roughly $45 a head it is mid-priced for Walt Disney World, and the small plates make it possible to eat well for meaningfully less. Order them and skip the dessert.
Who it’s right for
Anyone spending a full day at Animal Kingdom who wants an indoor sit-down break in the afternoon heat. Groups of three or more, who can share the small plates properly. Anyone who wants table service in this park without paying Tiffins prices or eating at a buffet.
Who it’s wrong for
Anyone expecting a signature meal — this is good theme-park Asian cooking, not a destination restaurant. Anyone whose dietary needs are complex, because the allergy handling is the operator's rather than Disney's. And anyone who has confused it with the counter-service windows outside, which are cheaper, faster and a completely different experience.
What is actually good
The small plates are the strongest part of the menu and the reason to come with more than two people. Pork Pot Stickers, Firecracker Shrimp at $15.49 and the shareable Kimchi Calamari at $16.99 are all better than the entrees they precede.
Among the mains, Miso Salmon at $33.99 and Chicken Tikka Masala at $28.79 are the reliable ones. Bhaktapur Duck and Hibachi Steak & Shrimp both sit at $40.99 and are excluded from the Disney Dining Plan.
Prices went up in 2026, and Disney's own menu settles the old disagreement. The Mouse For Less listed Pork Pot Stickers at $12.99; WDW News Today reported a menu-wide increase in May 2026 taking them to $13.29. Disney's menu, read on 13 September 2026, says $13.29, so the rise happened. Prices here are from that read.
Desserts are the weak end — Fried Wontons at $14.49 is a lot for the dish that arrives.
Portions
Generous, and the small plates are genuinely shareable. Two starters between three people is the right ratio. Entrees are large enough that a table ordering a starter each and two mains between three will not leave hungry, which is the cheapest way to eat here well.
Allergies and dietary needs
Handled competently rather than exceptionally. This is an operating participant rather than a Disney-run kitchen, so the allergy process is the restaurant's own rather than Disney's standard one — ask for the manager rather than assuming a chef will appear unprompted. Vegetarian options are real: the tikka masala and the wok-fried green beans both work as a main.

- No, and confusing them is the common mistake. The restaurant is table service upstairs, needs a reservation and costs roughly $45 a head. Local Foods Cafes is a counter-service window at ground level outside, with a short menu at a fraction of the price. Both carry the same name and the same theming.
- Do you need a reservation for Yak & Yeti?
- It is one of the easier Walt Disney World table-service bookings — usually available a few days out rather than needing the full 60-day window. Because it is an operating participant it also takes walk-ups more readily than Disney-run restaurants, though not reliably at lunch on a busy day.
