The short answer
The Disney Destiny is the third Wish-class ship, in service since November 2025 and sailing from Fort Lauderdale. It shares the Treasure's hull and the AquaMouse but takes a heroes-and-villains theme, with a Wakanda-inspired lobby and the fleet's only Lion King rotational restaurant.

Who this ship is for
Families who want the newest Wish-class hull and whose affections run to Marvel, The Lion King and the Disney villains. Also anyone already flying into Fort Lauderdale or Miami, for whom Port Everglades removes an hour of driving. Pride Lands is unique and worth choosing the ship for.
Who it’s wrong for
Anyone combining the cruise with Walt Disney World. Fort Lauderdale is roughly three hours from Orlando against Port Canaveral's one, and that is a real cost on a land-and-sea trip — the Treasure is the same class of ship from the closer port. It is also the wrong ship if you want quiet: like the rest of the Wish class it is busy and heavily programmed.

Every stateroom category on the Destiny
Disney lists 1,246 staterooms in 26 categories on the Disney Destiny, read from its own room data on 22 September 2026. The number is the room type, from 1 (the largest suites) down to 11 (standard inside). Disney never says what the letter means; in its data, the letters within one number mostly split the same room by deck and by position on the ship.

The split bathroom every Disney ship
Disney's split bathroom divides the toilet and sink from the shower and second sink into two separate compartments, so two people can get ready at once. It is standard across the family stateroom categories and is the single feature families notice most when comparing Disney with other lines.
Where to book on the ship every Disney ship
Midship staterooms walk least and feel the least motion — the ship pivots around its middle, so forward and aft cabins move noticeably more in weather. Directly beneath the pool deck hears deck chairs being dragged from around seven in the morning; directly above a lounge hears the band. Aft cabins near the engines can carry a low vibration at speed.
If motion sickness is a concern in your party, book midship and low, not high and forward, and take the smaller room to get there.
Check-in and boarding day every Disney ship
Online check-in is the part of a Disney cruise first-timers most often get wrong, and it is the one thing on this page that is worth setting an alarm for.
Your window opens by Castaway Club tier, at midnight Eastern on the day it opens: Pearl at 40 days before sailing, Platinum at 38, Gold at 35, Silver at 33, and first-time cruisers at 30. Concierge guests get 40 days regardless of tier.
What that window actually buys is the Port Arrival Time. Every guest who is not in concierge picks one at check-in, the earliest slots go first, and it is the only meaningful advantage of checking in the moment your window opens. A first-time cruiser checking in at 30 days is choosing from what four tiers of repeat guests have already left.
So the practical version: know your date, be awake at midnight Eastern, have passport or birth certificate details and a card on file ready, and take the earliest arrival time you are confident of making. Boarding is not first-come — it runs by arrival time — so a later slot means a later start on a day when the ship is already open and the first lunch is being served.
Is concierge worth it?
Same trade as the Treasure: the earliest activity-booking window of anyone on board, a lounge and a sundeck. Worth it at peak times and for parties of five who would otherwise need two rooms; hard to justify on a quiet week when you would get the bookings anyway.
Rotational dining every Disney ship
You and your serving team move together through all three across the sailing. It is the clearest single difference between Disney and every other line, and the thing first-timers most often misunderstand.

Drinks packages, or pay as you go? every Disney ship
There is no unlimited alcohol package on any Disney ship, which surprises people arriving from other lines, and it changes the arithmetic entirely: you cannot pre-buy your way out of the bar bill.
What exists is wine packages and beer packs. Eat Sleep Cruise's December 2025 prices run from $112 for three Classic bottles to $353 for seven Premium, and a six-pack of beer for the price of five at $36.25; Magic Guides still lists the packages at $105 to $330. The Drink of the Day is the discounted cocktail of the day: $7 to $8 before the gratuity, according to EverythingMouse, updated January 2026. Older guides still quote $5 to $6.
An 18% gratuity is added automatically to every bar, beverage and deck-service tab, so budget the sticker price plus a fifth. Soft drinks are free at the pool-deck stations and at meals — the same soda from a bar is not.
Quick service and room service every Disney ship
Quick-service counters on the pool deck run through the day and are included in the fare, as is 24-hour room service with a handful of exceptions such as packaged snacks and alcohol. Room service is genuinely free — a plate of fries, warm cookies or a Mickey bar at midnight costs nothing — but the delivery gratuity is not included and is worth having cash for.

The only childcare on board that costs money: $9 an hour for the first child and $8 for each additional child in the same family. It books out, particularly on sea days and formal nights, so reserve it at the same time as adult dining rather than after. Closed to walk-ins, but an open house lets you see inside before committing.
Adults-only spaces
Quiet Cove, Senses Spa, Enchanté and the adults-only lounges — the same layout as the Treasure and the Wish, since they share a hull. As on every Wish-class ship these are good rooms inside a family vessel rather than its character.
Up on deck
The AquaMouse runs a different on-ride film here — Sing A Silly Song — so it is not simply the Treasure's ride repeated. Otherwise the pool deck follows the Wish-class layout, with pools staggered across tiered decks, not concentrated on one.

What this ship has that the others don’t
Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King, and a Wakanda-inspired grand hall. The Destiny leans into heroes and villains where the Treasure leans into adventure and the Wish into Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars — three ships, one hull, three quite different atmospheres.
How it compares with its sister ship
The Destiny, Treasure and Wish share a hull, a layout and the AquaMouse. What differs is theming and port. The Wish is Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars from Port Canaveral; the Treasure is Coco, Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion from Port Canaveral; the Destiny is heroes, villains and The Lion King from Fort Lauderdale.
If you are pairing the cruise with Walt Disney World, the port difference matters more than the theming.
If this is your first Disney cruise
Book Pride Lands early in your rotation if you can influence it — it is the thing this ship has that no other does, and being scheduled into it on the last night of a three-night sailing is a waste. And plan the drive: Fort Lauderdale is not Port Canaveral, and people book flights on that assumption every week.
What people get wrong before they sail
- Assuming it sails from Port Canaveral. The Destiny is a Fort Lauderdale ship — a different airport, a different drive, and an hour further from Walt Disney World.
- Expecting Remy. It is on the Dream and Fantasy only; the Destiny's fine dining is Enchanté.
- Reading Treasure reviews as though they apply. Same hull, different restaurants and different theming.
Booking windows move by loyalty tier. See when your window opens — it is up to 48 days earlier for some guests than others.
Sailing the Destiny with a disability
On the Disney Destiny there are no communication kits — you book a communication stateroom instead.
Disney says outright that kits are not available on these ships, so the features are built into a different room category and it has to be booked through Special Services — not added later.
The stateroom has:
- stateroom teletypewriter (TTY)
- a doorbell
- smoke detector with a visual indication
- a panel with light signals for doorbell, telephone calls, general alarms and fire alarms
- vibrating bed shaker under the mattress for the same four
The Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Adventure work the other way round — a kit added to any stateroom. Request at least 30 days before a US sailing, or 120 days for select European ones.
True of every Disney ship
- Disney does not rent wheelchairs for the cruise. Disney does not rent wheelchairs for the cruise. The onboard supply covers embarkation, debarkation and emergencies only, and may not be taken ashore. Tender ports and pools require transferring out of the chair; Disney strongly recommends sailing with someone who can assist.
- Every ship has guest-operated pool lifts, but allow up to 2 hours between asking and swimming — they are set up on the day by a Crew Member.
- Accessible staterooms have a minimum 32-inch door, a roll-in shower with a fold-down seat, and a ramped threshold to the verandah where there is one.
- Health Centre care is billed as out-of-country care and your insurance is not accepted on board. Check before you sail whether your policy reimburses treatment abroad, and whether it covers evacuation.
- Anything that monitors a condition wirelessly should have a fallback. Disney warns that onboard internet is chargeable, slower than you are used to, and at times unavailable.
