Is the Disney Treasure the same as the Disney Wish?

They share a hull, a deck layout and the AquaMouse water coaster, so the physical ship is near-identical. The theming is entirely different: the Wish is built around Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars, while the Treasure runs on adventure — Coco, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and Moana.

How many people does the Disney Treasure hold?

2,492 guests at double occupancy, and up to 4,000 when every upper berth and pull-down bed is filled. Those two figures describe very different sailings, so school holidays feel considerably busier than the headline number suggests.

How much does the nursery cost on the Disney Treasure?

Nine dollars an hour for the first child and eight for each additional child from the same family, checked September 2026. It takes children from six months to three years, and it is the only childcare on board that is not included in the fare.

Does the Disney Treasure have Remy?

No. Remy is on the Dream and the Fantasy. The Treasure's fine-dining equivalent is Enchanté on Deck 12 aft, where the Passion and Potager menus are $145 per person, checked September 2026. Disney Cruise Line raised adult dining prices on 21 June 2025 and many guides still print the old $135.

What is the Haunted Mansion Parlor?

A bar on Deck 3 forward themed to the Haunted Mansion, and the first permanent home the attraction has had outside a Disney park. It works as an ordinary handsome lounge by day and changes completely at night, when the lighting drops and the ghosts appear.

The Disney Treasure is the second Wish-class ship, sailing 7-night Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral since December 2024. It carries 2,492 guests at double occupancy and up to 4,000 when full. Its distinguishing feature is the Haunted Mansion Parlor, a themed bar that changes character completely once the lights go down.

Who this ship is for

Families with children between three and fourteen, who get the most from three different dinner experiences and a kids club the children ask to go back to. Also anyone who cares about theming as craft, not decoration — the Haunted Mansion Parlor, the Jungle Cruise lounge and the Walt and Roy sides of 1923 are the work of people who were not being asked to do this much.

Who it’s wrong for

Anyone wanting a quiet, understated cruise. This is a busy, scheduled, entertainment-led ship, and the evenings in particular are programmed, not open.

It is also the wrong choice if the appeal of cruising is long sea days and adult calm — the adults-only spaces are good but they are islands in a family ship, not the character of it. And if the budget is tight, the surcharges add up faster here than the fare suggests: two Enchanté dinners cost more than a night in most Walt Disney World resorts.

Disney lists 1,246 staterooms in 26 categories on the Disney Treasure, read from its own room data on 22 September 2026. The number is the room type, from 1 (the largest suites) down to 11 (standard inside). Disney never says what the letter means; in its data, the letters within one number mostly split the same room by deck and by position on the ship.

The split bathroom every Disney ship

Disney's split bathroom divides the toilet and sink from the shower and second sink into two separate compartments, so two people can get ready at once. It is standard across the family stateroom categories and is the single feature families notice most when comparing Disney with other lines.

Where to book on the ship every Disney ship

Midship staterooms walk least and feel the least motion — the ship pivots around its middle, so forward and aft cabins move noticeably more in weather. Directly beneath the pool deck hears deck chairs being dragged from around seven in the morning; directly above a lounge hears the band. Aft cabins near the engines can carry a low vibration at speed.

If motion sickness is a concern in your party, book midship and low, not high and forward, and take the smaller room to get there.

Check-in and boarding day every Disney ship

Online check-in is the part of a Disney cruise first-timers most often get wrong, and it is the one thing on this page that is worth setting an alarm for.

Your window opens by Castaway Club tier, at midnight Eastern on the day it opens: Pearl at 40 days before sailing, Platinum at 38, Gold at 35, Silver at 33, and first-time cruisers at 30. Concierge guests get 40 days regardless of tier.

What that window actually buys is the Port Arrival Time. Every guest who is not in concierge picks one at check-in, the earliest slots go first, and it is the only meaningful advantage of checking in the moment your window opens. A first-time cruiser checking in at 30 days is choosing from what four tiers of repeat guests have already left.

So the practical version: know your date, be awake at midnight Eastern, have passport or birth certificate details and a card on file ready, and take the earliest arrival time you are confident of making. Boarding is not first-come — it runs by arrival time — so a later slot means a later start on a day when the ship is already open and the first lunch is being served.

Is concierge worth it?

Concierge on the Treasure buys the earliest booking window on the ship, a private lounge and sundeck, a dedicated team who will make your Palo and excursion reservations for you, and priority embarkation.

The booking window is the part that actually matters: concierge guests book activities before every Castaway Club tier, which is why cabanas and prime Palo times can be gone before anyone else's window opens.

Worth it if you are travelling in a party of five who would otherwise need two staterooms, or if you are sailing at a peak time and the reservations matter to you. Not worth it on a quiet-week sailing where you would get most of those bookings anyway — the fare difference buys several nights at Enchanté.

Rotational dining every Disney ship

You and your serving team move together through all three across the sailing. It is the clearest single difference between Disney and every other line, and the thing first-timers most often misunderstand.

Plaza de Coco	Coco — Mexican-inspired, with live musical storytelling A mariachi-led retelling of Miguel's story runs across the meal. The most show-forward of the three, and the one worth taking younger children to first.
Worlds of Marvel	Marvel — interactive, screen-driven The meal is built around an interactive Marvel story that unfolds on screens through the room. Loud and busy by design; excellent for children who would otherwise be restless.
1923	The golden age of Disney animation, Hollywood-styled Split into a Walt side and a Roy side, each with its own artwork and colour scheme — your rotation tells you which. The quietest of the three and the one to book the night you want a conversation.

Drinks packages, or pay as you go? every Disney ship

There is no unlimited alcohol package on any Disney ship, which surprises people arriving from other lines, and it changes the arithmetic entirely: you cannot pre-buy your way out of the bar bill.

What exists is wine packages and beer packs. Eat Sleep Cruise's December 2025 prices run from $112 for three Classic bottles to $353 for seven Premium, and a six-pack of beer for the price of five at $36.25; Magic Guides still lists the packages at $105 to $330. The Drink of the Day is the discounted cocktail of the day: $7 to $8 before the gratuity, according to EverythingMouse, updated January 2026. Older guides still quote $5 to $6.

An 18% gratuity is added automatically to every bar, beverage and deck-service tab, so budget the sticker price plus a fifth. Soft drinks are free at the pool-deck stations and at meals — the same soda from a bar is not.

Quick service and room service every Disney ship

Quick-service counters on the pool deck run through the day and are included in the fare, as is 24-hour room service with a handful of exceptions such as packaged snacks and alcohol. Room service is genuinely free — a plate of fries, warm cookies or a Mickey bar at midnight costs nothing — but the delivery gratuity is not included and is worth having cash for.

The only childcare on board that costs money: $9 an hour for the first child and $8 for each additional child in the same family. It books out, particularly on sea days and formal nights, so reserve it at the same time as adult dining rather than after. Closed to walk-ins, but an open house lets you see inside before committing.

Adults-only spaces

Quiet Cove is the adults-only district on Deck 13 aft — an infinity pool, a shallow bench pool, a whirlpool, the Cove Bar and Cove Café, set deliberately away from the family decks, with an adults' sun deck above it on Deck 14. Sarabi is the ship's two-storey Lion King-themed space, savanna-inspired, which runs as a general venue by day and becomes adults-only entertainment in the evening. Enchanté sits aft on Deck 12, and Senses Spa and the fitness centre are 18+.

The honest framing: these are excellent rooms inside a family ship, not the character of the ship. If you want the adult spaces to BE the holiday, this is the wrong hull.

Up on deck

Seven pools staggered across tiered decks in a district themed to Mickey and friends, which spreads the crowd better than a single large deck does. The AquaMouse is the water coaster — it runs a new on-ride film on the Treasure, The Temple of the Golden Egg, so it is not simply the Wish's ride repeated.

The Shipside Promenade is on Deck 5, with loungers and shuffleboard, but it is not a loop: the Rainforest Room's outdoor area closes one end, so walkers have to double back.

Pirate Night

Pirate Night runs on Deck 11 and the pools are covered over for it. Free pirate-themed games through the evening, a pirate show with Mickey, a musical sing-along, and it closes with fireworks at sea — one of very few cruise lines permitted to do that. Dressing up is entirely optional and widely done; bandanas are handed out, but anything more elaborate you bring yourself.

What this ship has that the others don’t

The Haunted Mansion Parlor. It is a bar on Deck 3 forward, on the port side next to the Treasures Untold shop, themed to the ride, and when the Treasure launched in December 2024 it was the first permanent home the attraction had been given outside a park. The Disney Destiny has had one since its maiden voyage in November 2025, so it is no longer unique to this ship.

It reads as a handsome lounge in daylight and becomes something else entirely at night, when the lights drop and the ghosts appear. Directly across from it, a Jungle Cruise-themed lounge does the same trick in the opposite register.

How it compares with its sister ship

The Treasure and the Disney Wish share a hull, a layout and the AquaMouse, so the choice is about theming and itinerary rather than the ship. The Wish leans Marvel, Frozen and Star Wars; the Treasure leans adventure — Coco, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Moana.

If your family's affections run to the classic attractions, the Treasure will feel like it was made for them. If they run to Marvel and Frozen, the Wish will.

If this is your first Disney cruise

Learn port and starboard before you board — port is left when facing forward, and 'left' and 'port' are both four letters. Every direction on the ship is given that way, and getting it wrong costs a lot of walking on a 1,121-foot hull.

Then, on the first afternoon, walk the three decks around the Grand Hall, 3, 4 and 5, before you head for the pool: most of the restaurants, lounges and shops are on them, and one circuit teaches you the layout faster than the map does.

What people get wrong before they sail

Waiting to buy merchandise. Each sailing carries limited stock and sizes go early — if you see it and want it, buy it then.
Arriving at the Walt Disney Theatre on time. Centre seats fill well before the show, so early is the price of a good view.
Booking adult dining and forgetting the nursery. The nursery books out on exactly the nights you want Palo, so reserve both in the same sitting.
Skipping the kids club open house. It is the only chance to see inside before committing a nervous child, and it costs half an hour.
Choosing a stateroom on price alone. Deck and position change how much you walk and how much you feel the sea far more than the category does.

Booking windows move by loyalty tier. See when your window opens — it is up to 48 days earlier for some guests than others.

Sailing the Treasure with a disability

On the Disney Treasure there are no communication kits — you book a communication stateroom instead.

Disney says outright that kits are not available on these ships, so the features are built into a different room category and it has to be booked through Special Services — not added later.

The Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Adventure work the other way round — a kit added to any stateroom. Request at least 30 days before a US sailing, or 120 days for select European ones.

True of every Disney ship

Disney does not rent wheelchairs for the cruise. Disney does not rent wheelchairs for the cruise. The onboard supply covers embarkation, debarkation and emergencies only, and may not be taken ashore. Tender ports and pools require transferring out of the chair; Disney strongly recommends sailing with someone who can assist.
Every ship has guest-operated pool lifts, but allow up to 2 hours between asking and swimming — they are set up on the day by a Crew Member.
Accessible staterooms have a minimum 32-inch door, a roll-in shower with a fold-down seat, and a ramped threshold to the verandah where there is one.
Health Centre care is billed as out-of-country care and your insurance is not accepted on board. Check before you sail whether your policy reimburses treatment abroad, and whether it covers evacuation.
Anything that monitors a condition wirelessly should have a fallback. Disney warns that onboard internet is chargeable, slower than you are used to, and at times unavailable.
