Disney World for seniors: no senior discount, the gentlest rides in each park, and what 92,000 seniors advise

Is there a senior discount at Disney World?

Not from Disney. Its planDisney panel confirmed in March 2025 that there is no senior discount on theme park tickets, and that the deals Disney runs are on its hotels, not by age. Every guest 10 and over pays the adult price.

AARP is the exception, and it is AARP's offer. AARP's member-benefits page lists up to $60 off Walt Disney World tickets with a minimum three-day ticket, varying by date, number and type of ticket. It is bought through AARP's offer page, not Disney's.

Which Disney World rides are gentlest?

Disney's attraction finder tags each ride, and two of its tags help here. It flags 20 attractions with a physical advisory, and tags 30 as slow rides, 29 of them without the advisory. The flagged 20 are the thrill rides:

• Magic Kingdom — Space Mountain, Big Thunder, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, TRON, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, the Barnstormer, Tomorrowland Speedway
• EPCOT — Test Track, Mission: SPACE, Cosmic Rewind
• Hollywood Studios — Rise of the Resistance, Smugglers Run, Star Tours, Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Slinky Dog Dash
• Animal Kingdom — Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris

Kilimanjaro Safaris is the surprise: slow, but bumpy enough to carry the advisory.

What are the slow rides without an advisory?

Disney's slow rides with no physical advisory, by park:

• Magic Kingdom: "it's a small world", Peter Pan's Flight, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, the PeopleMover, Carousel of Progress, Buzz Lightyear, Under the Sea, Winnie the Pooh, the Railroad, the carrousel, Dumbo, Astro Orbiter, the Magic Carpets and the Main Street vehicles.
• EPCOT: Spaceship Earth, Frozen Ever After, Soarin', Living with the Land, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Journey Into Imagination and the Gran Fiesta Tour.
• Animal Kingdom: Na'vi River Journey and the Wildlife Express Train.

Hollywood Studios has none tagged slow; its shows are the gentle options there.

What do seniors themselves advise?

Disney for Seniors asked its Facebook group of more than 92,000 members for their dos and don'ts. The same themes came up again and again.

• Do less each day. Resist doing everything in one trip, build in a resort day or two, and spend more days doing less in each.
• Don't rush to the rides. Slow down, ask cast members about quieter corners, and use Lightning Lane or, if eligible, the Disability Access Service.
• Avoid criss-crossing a park. List your must-dos and route them. Parade times change the crowd flow even if you are not watching.

• Some trips skip the parks entirely. Disney Springs, the resorts, the boats and the fireworks from the Polynesian beach need no ticket.

How do you look after your health and feet?

Footwear drew the most advice in the Disney for Seniors group: never bring new shoes, and rotate two or three broken-in pairs, one each day, to stop blisters. Several wear compression socks on the plane and in the parks against swelling.

Bring extra medication. One member packs a spare week's supply for a seven-night stay, in case of delays.
