How to spend one day at EPCOT — the order, from our own queue record

What order should you do EPCOT in?

By when each queue is shortest, which our own record measures. We log every posted wait at EPCOT every five minutes. Across the nine days from 5 to 13 September 2026, 56,376 readings, with the park open 9am to 9pm, this is what the rides averaged:

The middle of the day runs from four hours after opening to two hours before closing; the last hour is the hour before closing. These are posted waits, which Disney pads, and nine days of September is not a season, so read the pattern rather than the minute.

Where should you start at EPCOT?

At Frozen Ever After or Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, the two rides that gain most from an early start. Frozen averaged 44 minutes in the first two hours against 63 at midday, and Remy 42 against 59. Disney Tourist Blog's one-day plan, updated in July 2026, starts at Frozen too, and suggests hotel guests use Early Theme Park Entry at the International Gateway for Remy.

When should you ride Guardians of the Galaxy?

Whenever your Lightning Lane Single Pass says, because the standby line was never short in our record. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind averaged 78 minutes in the first two hours, 91 at midday and 91 in the last hour, and 85 in the final 20 minutes. Disney sells it as a Single Pass, one ride at a time.

Here our record and the published advice part company. Disney Tourist Blog says the shortest Guardians line comes about 30 minutes before closing. Across our nine days, the end of the night was the ride's longest stretch after midday.

Riders must be 42 inches tall.

What should you do in the middle of the day?

World Showcase, while the front of the park peaks. Test Track averaged 69 minutes at midday and Frozen 63, while most of the pavilion films and exhibits never post a meaningful wait. Disney Tourist Blog's plan heads to Canada and then France for Remy before lunch, and recommends Regal Eagle Smokehouse for a counter meal.

What should you save for the evening?

Soarin', Living with the Land and a spot for the fireworks. In the last hour Soarin' Across America averaged 20 minutes against 30 at midday, and Living with the Land 7. Test Track eased only slightly, to 59.

Disney Tourist Blog also says Soarin' and Test Track shorten after 4pm; our record agrees on Soarin' more than on Test Track.

Luminous The Symphony of Us closes the night over the lagoon; Sunshine Whispers ranked it 25th of 46 Disney World shows in February 2026. Disney Tourist Blog's advice is to claim a place 30 minutes before it starts.

Is Lightning Lane worth it for one day at EPCOT?

For Guardians, yes, because nothing in our record makes its standby line short. Multi Pass is worth most on Test Track, the ride that stays long all day at 57 to 69 minutes, and on whichever of Frozen or Remy you could not reach early. Lightning Lane opens seven days ahead for Disney hotel guests and three days for everyone else, according to Disney.

Who should not follow this plan?

Families with small children, because four of these rides have height limits: Guardians of the Galaxy 42 inches, and Test Track, Soarin' and Mission: SPACE 40. The height checker sorts that out. And anyone visiting at a holiday, when nine days of September will not describe the queues.
