What is the cheapest way from Orlando airport to Disney World?

For one or two people, the Mears Connect shared coach: $17.60 an adult from the airport to your Disney hotel, $33.60 round trip. The only cheaper option is the LYNX 311 public bus at $2, which takes about an hour to the Disney Springs area and leaves you short of your hotel.

For three or more people, a car usually wins, because it is priced per vehicle rather than per person. Uber's own averages from the airport run from $39 to Disney Springs to $52 to the Grand Floridian.

Disney's free Magical Express coach ended at the start of 2022 and has not come back.

How much is Mears Connect, and how does it work?

Mears Connect is a shared coach or van that runs 24 hours a day and serves every Disney-owned hotel. Its own price list has three fares, because the trip from the airport carries a $1.60 airport fee:

Under-3s ride free, and a 3% fuel surcharge is added at checkout. Express costs $250 round trip for up to four. It is still shared: your hotel becomes the first stop.

Mears says the ride takes 30 to 60 minutes and vehicles leave every 20 to 30 minutes. The catch is the trip home: it collects you about 3 hours before a domestic flight.

What does an Uber or Lyft cost from MCO to Disney?

Uber publishes average UberX fares from the airport for the past month:

Planning sites that ride them put a normal UberX at $35 to $65 before the tip, and surge pricing higher. One receipt posted in April 2026 showed where the money goes: a $21.33 fare plus a $2.21 toll, a $5.59 booking fee and a $5.80 airport surcharge.⁷

Rideshare pickup is on Level 2 at Terminals A and B and Level 6 at Terminal C.

Is a taxi cheaper than Uber?

Rarely. Taxis at Orlando airport must run the meter, and flat fares are not allowed, so there is no set price. Planning sites put the trip to a Disney hotel at $60 to $85, against Uber's $39 to $52 averages.

A taxi's price does not change with the number of passengers, which helps a big group, and there is no surge. Taxis wait on Level 1 at Terminals A and B and on Level 6 at Terminal C.

Is a private car worth it?

For a family with small children, often. Two companies on the airport's permit list publish their rates, and both include a free 20-minute grocery stop:

Both supply car seats, which neither Mears's coaches nor a standard Uber can promise, and neither price includes the tip. Late-night pickups cost more with both.

Can you take a Minnie Van from the airport?

Only if you are staying at a Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa hotel or on Club Level, Disney says. You book by phone on (407) 828-3500, from 60 days to 2 days before you arrive. A van takes up to 6 people with up to 2 car seats.

Disney's own page gives no price. A Disney planning panellist, relaying a Cast Member in January 2026, gave $249 each way, and three independent outlets have printed $249 since. Several guides still say $199, which was the price before autumn 2025.

Sources disagree on the tip. Disney Food Blog says gratuity is not included; a DISboards poster said their confirmation email included $20 of it.⁷

Should you rent a car?

Only if you plan to leave Disney property. Parking is less of an obstacle than it used to be: overnight self-parking is free for guests at Disney-owned hotels, and so is standard theme park parking, which otherwise costs $35 a day. Valet is $42 a night.

The Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve charge $40 a day to park.

Rental rates at the airport vary widely: comparison sites show base rates of about $20 to $45 a day before fees. The free Visitor Toll Pass, picked up at the airport, covers the toll roads.

A middle route: take Mears or a car in, and rent from the Enterprise, Alamo and National desk at Disney's Car Care Center only for the days you need it. A free shuttle runs there from the resorts.

Can you get to Disney by public bus or train?

By bus, yes. LYNX 311 runs from the airport to the Disney Springs area for $2, about every half hour from before 5am to about 11pm, and takes 49 to 60 minutes. It boards only on the A side, Level 1, spaces A38 to A41.

It stops short of your hotel. Disney's buses from Disney Springs are for resort guests and may ask for a room key, which you do not have until check-in, so the last leg can be a problem.

By train, no. Brightline's Orlando station is at the airport, but its trains run south to Miami; the planned Disney Springs station was dropped in 2022. Brightline sends passengers to Mears.

Can Disney take your bags from the airport?

At some hotels. Disney is piloting a luggage service with BagCheck for guests at the three All-Star resorts, Art of Animation, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach, flying American, Southwest or United. You register from 30 days to a day before you fly, skip baggage claim, and collect the bags from the hotel's bell desk: Disney says to allow up to 4 hours.

Disney's page quotes no charge for the service, but airline bag fees still apply. It is the closest thing left to Magical Express's luggage handling.

Which is best for a couple, and which for a family of four?

For a couple, Mears: about $69 round trip for two adults with the fuel surcharge, against roughly $80 to $105 for two average Uber rides before the tip.

For two adults and two children aged 3 to 9, Mears costs $121.80 round trip, about $125 with the surcharge, and a car wins: two average Uber rides come to about $80 to $105 before the tip. A town car costs more but brings car seats and a grocery stop.

The common compromise is Mears in and Uber out, because Mears's return pickup is 3 hours before a domestic flight.
