Table service
Whispering Canyon Cafe
The short answer
Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge serves skillet-style comfort food, and the servers run a long-standing comic routine — ask for ketchup and you will be brought every bottle in the building. Children find it hilarious and some adults find it exhausting.

Is it worth the money?
Yes, if you know what you are walking into. The comic routine is not optional — servers will involve your table whether or not you invited it, and guests who wanted a quiet dinner have a bad time here.
Tell them at check-in if someone in your party would hate it and they will dial it down; they are good about it. At around $45 a head with an unlimited skillet it is among the better-value table services at a deluxe resort.
Who it’s right for
Families with extroverted children, and anyone who enjoys being part of the joke. The comic routine — ketchup, the pony races, the all-you-care-to-enjoy skillet — is genuinely funny when a table plays along.
Who it’s wrong for
Anyone who would find being singled out by a server excruciating. The routine is not optional and does not stop if you look uncomfortable, so shy children, socially anxious adults and anyone wanting a quiet meal should eat elsewhere.
What is actually good
The all-you-care-to-enjoy skillet is $45 per person and $17.50 for children aged 9 and under — smoked brisket, ribs, pulled pork, chicken and sausage with sides. It is the signature order and comfortably the best value here. À la carte mains run $24 to $39, starters $11 to $14 and desserts about $9.
Portions
The skillet is unlimited and enormous. Ordering one between two people is normal and encouraged.
Allergies and dietary needs
Standard handling with a chef available. The skillet format makes substitutions straightforward.
Common questions
- What happens if you ask for ketchup at Whispering Canyon?
- You will be brought every bottle of ketchup in the restaurant, usually by several servers at once, to general applause. It is the longest-running joke on Disney property and it is entirely intentional.
- Can you opt out of the jokes at Whispering Canyon?
- Yes. Tell a cast member at check-in if someone in your party would find it distressing, not funny — they are practised at dialling it down and will do so without making a point of it.
- Is Whispering Canyon good value?
- Among the better-value table services at any deluxe resort. Around $45 a head with an all-you-care-to-enjoy skillet that comfortably feeds two, in a resort where most alternatives cost considerably more.
- Do you need a reservation for Whispering Canyon?
- It is one of the easier bookings on property and walk-ups are often possible outside peak hours — a genuine rarity at Walt Disney World and a useful fallback when everything else is full.
