Is it worth the money?

It is the cheapest way into the deluxe tier and the best-themed hotel Disney has built, which is an unusual combination. The boat to Magic Kingdom is enjoyable, not merely functional — you arrive at the park having had a nice twenty minutes, not having queued. Against that, the rooms are the smallest in the tier and everything except Magic Kingdom is a bus.

Every room type, and who fits in it

Disney returns one room list for the whole property, covering Wilderness Lodge and Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas. It does not say which rooms belong to which, so neither do we. Straight from Disney’s own booking data, checked 2026-09-19. Occupancy excludes infants — Disney counts a baby in a cot separately, which is why a room that “sleeps 5” here can appear as 6 on their site.

Which room should you request?

The lobby is seven storeys of exposed timber and it carries sound — rooms on the interior balconies hear the lobby, which some people love. The resort is compact and easy to walk. It is also isolated: no monorail, no walking path, and buses to everything except Magic Kingdom.

What has changed recently?

Copper Creek Villas opened in 2017 and Geyser Point arrived with them. Artist Point became Story Book Dining in 2018, which regular guests still argue about.

A desk and reliable wifi, and the lobby has more comfortable places to sit and work than any other resort on property. Geyser Point is excellent in the morning before it fills.

Common questions

How do you get to Magic Kingdom from Wilderness Lodge?

A boat across Bay Lake, roughly twenty minutes and considerably more pleasant than any bus. Every other park is a bus, and those rides are long — this is a Magic Kingdom resort in practice even though it is not on the monorail.

Is Wilderness Lodge the cheapest deluxe?

Usually, yes. Standard rooms start around $558 in the cheapest 2026 season, below Animal Kingdom Lodge's $508 resort view only in the sense that Animal Kingdom Lodge's cheap rooms miss the point of that resort. For a room you would actually want, Wilderness Lodge is the least expensive deluxe.

Are Wilderness Lodge rooms small?

Yes — about 344 square feet sleeping four, the tightest in the deluxe tier and smaller than a moderate room at Caribbean Beach by a small margin. Guests compensate by using the lobby, which is unusually pleasant, but a family of four with luggage will feel it.

What is Whispering Canyon Cafe like?

A table-service restaurant where the servers run a long-standing comic routine — ask for ketchup and you will be brought every bottle in the building. Children find it hilarious and some adults find it exhausting; it is worth knowing which you are before booking.
