Is it worth the money?

The savanna view is worth it and almost nothing else here is. At roughly $200 a night above a resort view, you are buying something no other hotel in the country offers, and people who book it describe it as the best part of the trip.

Book a resort view instead and you are paying deluxe money for bus transport to all four parks and a long ride to three of them. Take the savanna or take a different resort.

Every room type, and who fits in it

Disney returns one room list for the whole property, covering Animal Kingdom Lodge and Jambo House and Kidani Village. It does not say which rooms belong to which, so neither do we. Straight from Disney’s own booking data, checked 2026-09-19. Occupancy excludes infants — Disney counts a baby in a cot separately, which is why a room that “sleeps 5” here can appear as 6 on their site.

Which room should you request?

Two separate buildings: Jambo House holds Boma and Jiko, Kidani Village holds Sanaa and the villas, and they are a shuttle or a fifteen-minute walk apart. Savanna-facing rooms hear the animals, which is the point. The resort is the furthest deluxe from everything except Animal Kingdom itself.

What has changed recently?

Kidani Village opened in 2009 with Sanaa. The resort is otherwise long-established, and its theming has aged better than almost anything else built at Walt Disney World in the 2000s.

A desk and reliable wifi, and Victoria Falls Lounge is a good place to work in the afternoon. The savanna view is a distraction rather than an aid, which regular guests treat as a feature.

Common questions

Is a savanna view worth it at Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Yes, and it is close to the only reason to stay here. Savanna view starts around $717 a night in 2026 against $508 for resort view — about $200 more for the thing that makes the resort unique. A resort-view room here is an expensive room in a remote location with bus-only transport.

How do you get to the parks from Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Buses, to all four parks, and nothing else. No monorail, no boat, no Skyliner, no walking path. It is the only deluxe resort with no alternative transport, and it is the furthest deluxe from Magic Kingdom.

Jambo House or Kidani Village?

Jambo House for Boma, Jiko and the main lobby; Kidani Village for Sanaa, a quieter feel and the villas. They are separate buildings about fifteen minutes apart on foot, connected by an internal shuttle, so pick by which restaurants and atmosphere you want.

Can you see animals from the room at Animal Kingdom Lodge?

From savanna-view rooms, yes — giraffes, zebra, wildebeest and others, at close range, from a private balcony. Around 200 animals across four savannas. Resort-view and pool-view rooms do not overlook the savannas at all.
