Disney cruise food: rotational dining, dinner times, what's included and what costs extra on every ship

What food is included on a Disney cruise?

Almost all of it. Disney's own FAQ and our records of all eight ships agree on the core:

• Dinner in the three rotational restaurants every night — Palo, Remy and Enchanté, the adults-only restaurants
• Breakfast and lunch buffets and table service — Alcohol, specialty coffee and bottled drinks
• Pool-deck quick service all day — Drinks from room service
• Room-service food, 24 hours, on seven of eight ships — The Disney Adventure's room-service fee
• Fountain soft drinks, juice, milk, coffee and tea at drink stations and meals — Soft drinks ordered from a bar
• The barbecue lunch at Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay — Gratuities, recommended at $16 a night per guest

Our room service guide has the drink prices; the Adventure has reportedly charged $5 plus an automatic 18% per room-service order since June 2026.

How does rotational dining work on a Disney cruise?

Each ship has three themed main restaurants, and your party moves between them night by night, keeping the same table number, dining time and serving team. "By the time you're on night number two, they're going to know you by name," Melissa says in our Disney Fantasy video, and DCL Fan says the same of its servers.

How often you see each room depends on the length of the cruise:

• 3 nights — Each restaurant once
• 4 nights — Each once, plus one repeat, usually for Pirate Night
• 7 nights — Each restaurant at least twice

A repeat visit brings a different menu, a planDisney panelist wrote in January 2025, and the order is not always a strict one-two-three: that panelist's five-night Fantasy rotation ran Enchanted Garden, Royal Court, Animator's Palate twice, then Enchanted Garden. Your schedule appears in the Navigator app once you board.

What time is dinner on a Disney cruise?

On most sailings, 5:45 p.m. for main seating and 8:15 p.m. for second seating, as Melissa found on the Fantasy. Some summer Alaska and Mediterranean sailings move to 6:00 and 8:30 p.m.³

The evening show runs twice so that nobody misses it: main-seating guests see it after dinner and second-seating guests before, DCL Community explains. Main seating is the more popular with young families. Melissa and Paul prefer second seating for a quieter room and a free early evening.

To change your seating, or to ask for a table to yourselves rather than a shared one, go to Guest Services once you board. On our Fantasy sailing a Guest Services table was set up on deck 2, beside Enchanted Garden, and it moved us to a table for two.

Which restaurants are on each Disney ship?

The Disney Adventure works differently: its six venues come in three pairs, and you eat in one of each pair across the cruise, the Disney Cruise Line Blog reported in November 2025. Kids' menus are available in every rotational restaurant, Melissa noted on the Fantasy.

How much do Palo, Remy and Enchanté cost?

Palo and Palo Steakhouse are $55 a head, brunch or dinner, and Remy and Enchanté dinners are $145, since a staggered rise across the fleet from June 2025, the Disney Cruise Line Blog reported; Remy's Champagne brunch is $85. Cruise Critic still gives Remy at $135, the price before the rise. All are for guests 18 and over.

Booking one costs you that night's rotational dinner, because your schedule does not shift to make room, planDisney's panelist explains, and Melissa makes the same point. On a three-night cruise that means never seeing one of the three rooms.³ Our Palo guide weighs whether it is worth it.

What drinks are included on a Disney cruise, and is there a drink package?

Fountain soft drinks, juice, milk, basic coffee and tea are free at the drink stations and at meals; the same soda from a bar is not. There is no unlimited alcohol package on any Disney ship.

What exists is wine packages, which Melissa saw offered at Animator's Palate: Eat Sleep Cruise lists $112 to $353 as of December 2025, while Magic Guides still shows $105 to $330.

The discounted Drink of the Day runs $7 to $8, EverythingMouse reported in January 2026, and an 18% gratuity is added automatically to every bar and beverage tab. Specialty coffee is extra too: Melissa's after-dinner cappuccino was an added charge.

What was dinner like on our Disney Fantasy cruise?

Our first night was Animator's Palate, where the room fills with animation on screens as dinner goes on, and the team that would serve us all week introduced themselves. By the second night at Enchanted Garden they had our ginger ale and Coke waiting and brought butter unasked, because they remembered.

Ordering is flexible: Melissa had two appetizers one night and three desserts to share another, and nobody minded. Royal Court, the princess room, was her favourite dinner of the three, and it also served breakfast and lunch with open seating during our cruise. Tell your servers about allergies on the first night, she advises, since the same team carries it all week.
