Disney Parks Blog confirms the Wish's crossing to Europe as a special repositioning cruise, its arrival in New York in late September 2027, and the Magic's two Panama Canal voyages in fall 2027 and spring 2028, each with a maiden port.

For the sea days and the rarity. Disney Parks Blog pitches them as more time on board with Disney's entertainment and dining while visiting new destinations.

A transatlantic crossing is mostly open ocean, so it suits people who want the ship itself rather than a port every day, and a Panama Canal transit is a full day of engineering spectacle that no other Disney itinerary includes.

Each crossing is also the only chance at a particular ship in a particular place. The Wish's September 2027 crossing takes a Wish-class ship via Iceland to New York, and all four Panama Canal voyages in this period are on the Magic.

What should you know before booking a repositioning cruise?

They are one-way. You fly home from a different port, often a different country, so budget an open-jaw flight and check the documents. Disney says anyone entering or re-entering the United States by air needs a passport, and a Southampton or Barcelona departure means exactly that.

They are long. Twelve to fourteen nights, with runs of consecutive sea days on the transatlantic crossings. That is the appeal for some and a reason to skip for others, particularly families with young children who need a change of scene.
