Shopping at Disney World: shipping souvenirs home under the new bag prices, and what replaced package pickup

How do you ship souvenirs home from Disney World?

In a bag, since 1 September 2026, when Disney moved shipping to a new provider, Ricoh Merchandise Shipping.¹ You pay by the bag, not by what is in it:

You fill one bag, scan a QR code to enter the address and pay, close it with the zip-tie tag, and hand it to a cast member; a tracking number follows by email. Insurance up to $100 is included, and each extra $100 of declared value adds $1 to $2.

Where can you ship, and what changed?

The sources disagree on where. WDW News Today confirmed the new service on 2 September 2026 at five resorts, the Yacht Club, Contemporary, Caribbean Beach, Grand Floridian and Coronado Springs, and was told it may spread. KennyThePirate reported it at Walt Disney World gift shops, resorts and the Disney Springs Marketplace Co-Op. Ask at the register before you buy something you cannot carry.

The old way charged by value. In December 2025, shipping cost $19.99 for goods up to $100, rising to $99.99 above $500, and KennyThePirate says you needed receipts for everything. For a large or valuable haul the flat bag is far cheaper; for one cheap item the extra-small bag costs about the same as before.

Can Disney deliver park purchases to your hotel?

Not at the moment. Disney's old package pickup and resort delivery page now redirects to its general guest-services index, and when a guest asked Disney's planDisney panel in 2023 whether resort delivery was back, the answer was that it was still unavailable. The panelist's suggestion was the park lockers.

So for a big purchase in a park, your options are to carry it, put it in a locker, buy it at your hotel's shop instead, or ship it home in a bag.

Can you send packages to your Disney hotel?

Yes, with a fee. Disney's mail services page says to address it to your Disney Resort hotel, mark it "Guest" on the front with your arrival date, and expect a $6 handling fee per package received at the front desk or delivered to your room. Grocery deliveries brought to your room carry the same $6 per order.

To post things yourself, the front desk or concierge at most Disney hotels will ship pre-packed, pre-labelled parcels, and the hotels with a business centre, including the Contemporary and the Grand Floridian, will also pack and ship for you.

How do you shop faster at Disney World?

Use Merchandise Mobile Checkout in the My Disney Experience app: scan the tags, pay on your phone, show the receipt and leave, at participating shops. Disney says discounts for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members and Disney Visa cardmembers apply automatically.
