Should you bring a stroller or rent one at Disney World?

The right choice depends on where you need the stroller. Disney's own rentals are for inside the parks only. Disney says they cannot leave the park and must be returned before you go, so they are no use on the bus, at the hotel or on the walk from the parking lot.

Visit a second park the same day and you show your receipt there for another.

An outside rental company delivers to your hotel, and the stroller is yours for the whole trip. ScooterBug is Disney's featured provider, and Disney says it can deliver to a Disney hotel without you being there.

Bringing your own is free, and it is the one your child already sleeps in. The catch is getting it on the plane and making sure it is within Disney's size limit.

How much does a stroller rental cost at Disney World?

The prices, as each company published them on 14 September 2026:

For four park days the comparison splits. A single from Disney on a length-of-stay rental is $52, less than the cheapest four-day single from Orlando Stroller Rentals. A double from Disney is $108 for four days, against $75 to $85 from Orlando Stroller Rentals, and theirs also works on the bus and at the hotel.

Disney recommends its single for children up to 50 pounds and its double up to 100. It takes a $100 card deposit for strollers rented at Disney Springs. ScooterBug adds an optional damage waiver at $6 a day.

Is a double stroller worth it at Disney World?

Parents on the TouringPlans forum split, and the reasons are practical. In a 2024 thread about a two-year-old and a six-year-old, several parents said they always took two singles. They are easier on the Skyliner and buses, they let the family split up when the children want different rides, and one can carry the bags.

Others preferred one double. One said two strollers were "a pain on busses", and they had ended up taking both everywhere anyway, because the older child needed a seat for the long walk out of the park. The parent who asked rented a double in the end.

Older children use them more than you might expect. One family kept a double until their son was eight or nine. Another logged 17,000 to 28,000 steps a day with a nine-year-old and a seven-year-old.

A third suggested a single with a ride-on board for the older child.

What are Disney World's stroller rules?

Disney's park rules set the limit:

• No stroller wider than 31 inches or longer than 52 inches. Some doubles sit right on the line: ScooterBug lists its BOB double at exactly 31 inches wide. Measure yours before you pack it.
• No wagons and no stroller wagons, even the ones you push.
• On Disney buses, every stroller must be folded and kept out of the aisle. Disney treats medical strollers as wheelchairs.

The Skyliner is where sources disagree. A planDisney panellist wrote in 2022 that you do not need to fold a stroller to board. Diz-Abled, a disability travel site, says an open stroller must fit a 30 by 48 inch space, and a bigger one has to be folded.

That rules out a 31-inch double. It also says a gondola takes only one stroller or mobility device, and no more than six people when one is aboard. Disney's own Skyliner page does not say, so be ready to fold a wide double.

Where can you rent a stroller in the parks?

Disney lists rental points at every theme park and at Disney Springs:

• Magic Kingdom: one rental point, listed by Disney simply as at the park.
• EPCOT: the main entrance and International Gateway.
• Hollywood Studios: Oscar's Super Service.
• Animal Kingdom: Garden Gate Gifts.
• Disney Springs: Sundries, the Welcome Center and Marketplace Shipping.

If you misplace a Disney rental, Disney says a replacement is available with your receipt at various points around the resort, subject to availability. Keep the receipt, or a photo of it, on your phone.
