When do Disney cruises stop in Cabo San Lucas?

On Disney's San Diego sailings. Both the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder move to San Diego from Alaska in September 2026, and most of their five-, six- and seven-night itineraries call at Cabo San Lucas, the Disney Cruise Line Blog's schedule shows; the three- and four-night Baja cruises go to Ensenada, and some to Catalina Island, instead.

The Magic's Panama Canal crossing from San Diego to Galveston in November 2026 also stops in Cabo.

How long do you get in Cabo, and how does the tender work?

The Disney Wonder's Personal Navigator for its 25 March 2025 call, a Pirate Night, gave guests ashore from 9:00 a.m. and all aboard at 5:30 p.m., eight and a half hours. The port schedule for a Wonder sailing on 2 April 2027 lists the ship from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., so later arrivals are possible.

Cabo has no cruise dock. Ships anchor in the bay near El Arco, and tenders carry guests to Marina Cabo San Lucas in about ten minutes, CruiseProdigy and Cabo Sailing both say. CruiseProdigy warns of 15-to-45-minute waits for a tender in the busy first hours, and Cabo Sailing advises joining the return line 45 to 60 minutes before all-aboard.

There is no terminal at the landing, just the marina.

Where can you swim in Cabo San Lucas?

Medano Beach. Los Cabos' own tourism board calls it the top swimmable beach in Cabo San Lucas, sheltered inside the bay, and warns that many of the region's beaches have strong undertows and sharp drop-offs that make swimming unsafe; it says 43% of Los Cabos beaches are considered swimmable. Medano is just steps from the marina, and about a ten-minute walk, the port guides say.

Lover's Beach, beside El Arco, is reached by water taxi from Medano or by glass-bottom boat from the marina, the tourism board says. Its far side, Divorce Beach, faces the Pacific, and CruiseProdigy warns never to swim there because of rip currents.

What are the best things to do in Cabo on a Disney cruise day?

Whale season is the reason to book a winter or spring sailing: gray and humpback whales pass Los Cabos from December through April, the tourism board says, and whale sharks arrive in the same months. It advises booking early, because tours fill up.

Is Cabo San Lucas safe, and what else should you know?

The US rates Baja California Sur, the state Cabo is in, Level 2, exercise increased caution, citing terrorism and crime, with no specific travel restrictions for US government employees there, according to the State Department's advisory feed.

Two more things to plan around. Tender days are the ones where a late independent tour can cost you the ship, so anything ambitious is safer as a Disney Port Adventure, which Disney waits for if it runs late, a planDisney panelist wrote in November 2023. And every Disney cruise calling in Mexico carries Mexico's cruise passenger fee, $10 a passenger since 1 August 2026.
