How long do you get in each port on a Disney cruise?

Which ship gives you the most time in port?

The same port can give very different days. In Cozumel the Disney Destiny's Fort Lauderdale sailings gave nine hours in May 2026, the Disney Treasure 8 hours 15 minutes in June, and the Disney Magic's Galveston sailings six hours in March. In Grand Cayman the Treasure gave seven hours and the Magic six.

The Magic's Galveston itineraries are the tightest on this list, at about six hours in both Cozumel and Grand Cayman. The Wonder's Alaska week is the most generous, with two ports over ten hours. Which Disney ports need a tender?

Of the ports on this page, only Grand Cayman. George Town has no cruise berth, so ships anchor offshore and local boats carry guests in. Tendering eats into a day that is already among the shortest here: the ride takes about ten minutes each way, Daily.ky says, and waits build after breakfast, a planDisney panelist wrote in 2023.

Every other port here docks alongside, and Disney's own islands, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay, have their own piers.

Where is the all-aboard time earliest?

St. Thomas, at 3:45 p.m. on the Treasure's 2026 Eastern Caribbean sailings, the day after Tortola's 5:45 p.m. Our own AIS record shows why: across 52 Disney calls at St. Thomas since 2024, the median ship was away from the Havensight dock by 15:55.

The latest is Skagway's 8:00 p.m. on the Wonder, and Ketchikan's afternoon call runs until 7:00 or 7:45 p.m. Local guides advise leaving a margin: Daily.ky says to be back at the Grand Cayman tender at least 30 minutes before all-aboard, and VI Ferries says a Virgin Gorda ferry should reach Road Town 90 minutes before it.

Does the ship wait if you are late back?

Only for Disney's own excursions. If a Disney-booked Port Adventure runs late, Disney waits or arranges transport to the next port, a planDisney panelist wrote in November 2023; tours booked with anyone else carry no such promise.

The longer the transfer, the more that matters: it is the case for booking through Disney at Grand Cayman's tender, the ferry to the Baths from Tortola, and the drive to Dunn's River Falls from Falmouth.
