Which dock does a Disney ship use in St. Thomas?

Havensight, on every Disney call in our own record. Our AIS position record for the Disney fleet catches 52 St. Thomas calls between January 2024 and March 2026, 29 by the Disney Treasure, 22 by the Disney Fantasy and one by the Disney Magic, and in every one the ship sat at the West Indian Company dock at Havensight, east of downtown Charlotte Amalie.

None used Crown Bay, the island's second cruise dock, west of town.

The outside reports agree: the Fantasy docked at Havensight on a 2019 call, Travelling With Nikki reported, and Jetmunk's guide to Disney's calls says most use Havensight. The port can still move a ship to Crown Bay on a busy day, so check the Navigator app the evening before.

The difference matters on foot. From Havensight, downtown is about 1.5 miles west along the waterfront, a 25-to-30-minute walk, according to Blackbeard's Castle's port guide; from Crown Bay the same guide recommends a taxi, because the route is less pedestrian-friendly.

How long do you get in St. Thomas on a Disney cruise?

St. Thomas comes the day after Tortola on that itinerary, and its 3:45 p.m. all-aboard is early, so plan the afternoon backwards from it.

Across the 52 measured calls the median Disney ship was stationary alongside from 07:15 to 15:55 local time, 8.8 hours including berthing, and 45 of the 52 calls fell on a Wednesday. The Treasure's call on 18 March 2026 shows as 07:30 to 16:00, bracketing the Navigator's 7:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.

How do taxis work in St. Thomas?

Fares are fixed per person by destination, not metered, and two or more people riding together each pay a lower group rate. Many are open-air safari trucks shared with other passengers, Blackbeard's Castle's guide explains; licensed taxis carry TP plates, drivers expect cash, and a 15 to 20% tip is usual.

Published rate cards agree on some fares and not others. From downtown to Magens Bay, both Everything Virgin Islands and Boat Concierge list $15 for one person and $12 each for two or more. For the short hop from Havensight into town, Boat Concierge lists $6 and an older What To Do guide $4, so confirm the fare before you board.

What are the best things to do in St. Thomas on a Disney cruise?

Magens Bay is the famous beach, and the Magens Bay Authority raised its non-resident entry fee to $7 for everyone over 12 from 1 October 2023, the VI Consortium reported. The Authority's own FAQ warns the beach can get crowded when cruise ships are in, and suggests going early.

The Skyride cable car climbs from beside Havensight to Paradise Point in about five minutes. Nikki's 2019 fare of $21 is out of date, so check the price at the ticket window.

How much can you bring back duty-free from St. Thomas?

$1,600 per person, double the usual $800. US Customs and Border Protection counts goods from a US insular possession such as the US Virgin Islands toward a $1,600 personal exemption, against $800 from most other places. Keep your receipts, because alcohol and tobacco have their own limits within the exemption.

Is St. Thomas safe, and what else should you know?

St. Thomas is a US territory, so the State Department publishes no travel advisory for it, and the currency is the US dollar. Traffic drives on the left, a holdover from Danish rule, Blackbeard's Castle's guide notes, which matters when you step off a curb as much as behind a wheel.
