How much is a cabana at Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay?

Prices are per cabana for the day, not per person.

Children under three are free but count towards the maximum. Split six ways, a Castaway Cay family cabana is about $156 a person for the day. Prices can change, so check yours when you book.

What comes with a Disney cruise cabana?

More than most people expect. A planDisney panelist listed a mini fridge stocked with water and soda, towels, sunscreen and face cloths, plus the Castaway Cay Getaway package: a one-hour bike rental, floats or tubes, and snorkel gear. Every cabana also has a hammock and a private outdoor shower.

On our two cabana days we also found fresh fruit in the fridge, snacks and a safe in a cupboard, a ceiling fan, a curtained changing corner and a panel for ordering drinks and changing the music. An attendant checked on us through the day, and cabana guests get a wristband, their own lunch area and, at Castaway Cay, their own bar.

The one warning our attendant gave: birds go for any snacks left out.

Are the Mickey & Minnie Cove cabanas adults only?

No, and our own Castaway Cay video gets this wrong. Melissa calls them the adults-only section; they are family cabanas. Disney opened the 30 of them in December 2025 beside Serenity Bay, the adults-only beach, and WDW News Today describes them as family cabanas with their own roped-off beachfront.

The mix-up is understandable. They share the tram stop and check-in with Serenity Bay, and Hangar 98 BBQ, which opened at the same time, serves the adult beach and, in a separate area, the cabana guests. The same change renamed the original family cabanas the Sandcastle Cabanas, the Disney Cruise Line Blog reported.

What was a cabana day like at Castaway Cay and at Lookout Cay?

We have done one on each island, both with friends on the Disney Wish.

Castaway Cay, August 2026, Mickey & Minnie Cove. Cabana 27 sat at the far end, and it was so quiet it felt like a private beach. The water was calm, warm and so shallow it barely reached the knee, perfect for floating in a tube. Pluto came by for photos.

Cabana guests had their own entrance and seating at Hangar 98 BBQ, so lunch was quick.

Lookout Cay, April 2026, Mabrika Cove. Our grand cabana, number one, was a short walk from the island entrance, with the ship in view. The water was chillier at first, and the beach has the pink sand the island is known for. The walk from the ship looks long but was easy on a cool, breezy day; the carts are for guests who need assistance.

On both days all aboard was 4:30 p.m., so plan to leave the cabana by about 4:15.

How do you book a cabana on a Disney cruise?

Online, when your activity-booking window opens, and fast. Windows open by Castaway Club tier, from 130 days before sailing for concierge guests down to 75 days for first-time cruisers, as our online check-in guide sets out, and planDisney panelists warn that cabanas go quickly once they open.

If you miss out, split one. Both of our cabana days came through friends, and on the Castaway Cay day through a couple we met in the Facebook group for our sailing, which is how many guests share the cost. On embarkation day we went to Guest Services on Deck 4 to be added to their booking, with no queue.

Is a cabana at Castaway Cay worth it?

For a day of doing very little, yes, in our view. Melissa's verdict after Castaway Cay was an unqualified yes: shade and a fan on a hot day, a cold drink on request, a quiet beach and a lunch with no queue.

It is poorer value if your family wants to be at the water slides, the 5K or the character spots all day, because the cabana is the thing you are paying for and you will barely use it.

It works best split between two couples or one family of six, where the cost per person is closer to a nice lunch ashore than to a luxury.
