Disney Cruise Line online check-in: when it opens, the forms in order, and how to get an early Port Arrival Time

When does Disney Cruise Line online check-in open?

At midnight Eastern, on a date set by your Castaway Club level, counted back from the sail date. TouringPlans and the Disney Cruise Line Blog give the same windows:

• Pearl, and anyone in a concierge stateroom — 40 days before sailing
• Platinum — 38 days
• Gold — 35 days
• Silver — 33 days
• First-time cruisers — 30 days

You do not have to do it at midnight. Check-in stays open until 3 days before sailing, and the midnight rush is when the site is most likely to misbehave.⁶ Staggered windows returned in May 2023, after two years when everyone opened at 30 days. Our booking windows tool works out your date.

What do you fill in during Disney cruise online check-in?

Four things, in an order Disney enforces. Its FAQ says the Guest Information Form and the Payment Authorization Form must both be submitted before you can open the cruise contract, and the contract comes before the Port Arrival Form:

1. Guest Information Form — addresses, citizenship, disembarkation details and emergency contacts, plus passport numbers, which Disney asks for 30 to 40 days before sailing where your itinerary needs them. 2.

Payment Authorization Form — the card that settles your stateroom account. 3. The cruise contract. 4.

Port Arrival Time, then the Online Check-In Port Arrival Form, which the guest who booked must bring to the terminal.

Leave any of it until less than 48 hours before boarding and Disney says you complete it at the terminal instead.

Why does the Port Arrival Time matter?

Your Port Arrival Time decides when you get on the ship. Disney checks your documents at your Port Arrival Time, then calls guests to board by group, and asks anyone who turns up early to wait outside the terminal.

The earliest arrival times are around 11:00 AM, depending on the sailing.⁶ The advantage of an early slot, in its words, is a few calm moments on an empty ship and first chance at last-minute spa and adult-dining bookings. Some families prefer a later slot around a child's nap, since staterooms are typically ready at about 1:30 PM. Concierge guests can arrive whenever they like.

The catch for a first cruise is that four tiers of repeat guests choose before you, so the earliest slots are often gone by the time your 30-day window opens.

Does online check-in book your activities?

No, and it is the most common confusion. Port Adventures, Palo, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and the nursery are booked in a separate window that opens once the cruise is paid in full: 75 days out for first-time cruisers and up to 130 for concierge. Free character experiences such as Royal Gathering open at 30 days.

Online check-in is paperwork and a boarding slot.

The card you give in the Payment Authorization Form matters later: Disney charges it automatically whenever your onboard balance reaches $300 on a 2- to 5-night cruise, $500 on 6 to 9 nights and $700 on longer sailings.
