Disney cruise Wi-Fi: the two packages, what they cost, and whether a travel router is allowed
The short answer
Disney sells two internet packages, each priced per device per day: $30 for browsing, messaging and social media, and $49 with streaming, after a January 2026 rise. Using the ship's Wi-Fi only for the Navigator app is free. Disney's banned-items list does not name travel routers, but it does ban streaming sticks and power strips.
How much is Wi-Fi on a Disney cruise?
Two packages, both priced per device per day, reported by DCL Fan when Disney raised them in January 2026:

A package covers one device at a time, but you can sign one out and another in. You also buy by the day, so you can skip days you do not need it. For a four-night cruise, one device on the basic package is $120.
Two phones on streaming for seven nights is $686.

Which Disney cruise internet package do you need?
Internet ($30) covers messaging, email and social media, including short-form video like TikTok, but not long-form streaming from services such as Disney+ or Hulu.5
Internet + Streaming ($49) adds full streaming, faster speeds, YouTube and music services such as Spotify.
For keeping in touch and posting photos, the basic package is enough. Pay for streaming only if someone will watch shows or needs a fast connection for work.
What is free on a Disney cruise?
The Navigator app. Disney says there is no charge for joining the ship's Wi-Fi if you use it only for the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, which carries the daily schedule, dining times and bookings.
To connect, in Disney's words: join the DCL-GUEST network, turn off "Private Wi-Fi Address" and "Limit IP Address Tracking" in your phone's Wi-Fi settings, switch off any VPN, then go to dclwifi.com. Buy a package from the Navigator app's "Connect to Internet" option.
Can you bring a travel router or a hotspot on a Disney cruise?
A travel router is not on Disney's list. Its prohibited-items page, read on 15 September 2026, bans satellite receivers, streaming devices such as a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast or Roku, and extension cords, power strips and surge protectors. It does not mention Wi-Fi routers.
Other lines have moved. Royal Caribbean added Wi-Fi routers to its banned items in late 2024, Matador Network reported, because they let several devices share one paid connection. Check Disney's list again before you pack one.
A cellular hotspot is allowed. Disney's planDisney panel said in May 2025 that you may bring your own portable hotspot, but that connectivity is not guaranteed.
Can you use your phone at sea?
Yes, at a price. Disney runs Cellular at Sea in staterooms and public spaces, and says to ask your carrier for its rates; AT&T and Verizon sell cruise plans. Disney does not publish the rates, so check before you sail, and keep data roaming off unless you have a plan.
