4 Parks in 1 Day at Disney World: the order that works, the nights it doesn't, and what it costs

Can you really do all four Disney World parks in one day?

Yes, with a ticket that includes Park Hopper. Disney says you can visit another park at any time of day during park hours once you have entered your first, as long as the next park is not at capacity. Annual Passholders and some non-dated tickets still need a reservation, but only for the first park.

Set expectations by what people actually managed. Upgraded Points' writer rode about eight headliners and saw Fantasmic! on her four-park Saturday. Cosmos Mariners counted 11 and a half rides in 15 hours.

A mother and daughter on DISboards logged 26,472 steps. A four-park day is a sampler: one ride, one snack and one photo in each park, not a full day anywhere.

What does a four-park day cost?

On MouseSavers' 2026 chart, a one-day adult ticket runs $126.74 to $222.59 with tax, depending on the date, and the same day with Park Hopper runs $210.87 to $302.46. Hopping adds about $80 to $84 on a single day.

Driving adds $35 for standard parking, one fee for all four parks, and Disney hotel guests park free. Lightning Lane is optional; our Park Hopper guide covers when the add-on pays for itself on a longer ticket.

What order should you do the four parks in?

Let the park hours decide. In our record of Disney's published hours for 5 September to 15 October 2026:

Animal Kingdom opens earliest and, on most days, closes earliest, so it goes first. Magic Kingdom closes latest when it is not a party night, so it goes last. That gives the order most planners use: Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Magic Kingdom.

Guests at Disney hotels also get Early Entry, which put Animal Kingdom's gates at 7:30 on every day we recorded.

Which days break the usual four-park order?

Magic Kingdom's party nights. On 19 of the 41 days, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party closed Magic Kingdom to day guests at 6:00 p.m., and Happily Ever After did not run for them. Ending at Magic Kingdom is impossible on those nights.

On a party day, use Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT. Magic Kingdom is the quiet park that day: across every ride we track there, posted waits averaged 13.7 minutes between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., against 18.7 on ordinary days, in our record for 5 to 15 September.

Finish at EPCOT for Luminous, at 9:00 p.m. every night. Hollywood Studios ran busier than usual on party evenings, 30.8 minutes from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. against 25.3, though that rests on four party days. A DISboards mother and daughter went Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, then Hollywood Studios on 24 October 2025, a party night, and called it a day they would never forget.

Is starting at Animal Kingdom actually the best plan?

Not by the queues, which none of the published plans we read takes into account. Animal Kingdom is at its quietest late in the day: posted waits averaged 13.7 minutes from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. against 23.4 at 11:00 a.m. in our record. Kilimanjaro Safaris averaged 52 minutes at 10:00 a.m. and 8 at 4:00 p.m.

The usual order also puts you in Hollywood Studios at noon. It was the busiest of the four parks at every hour from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on ordinary days, and noon was its peak, at 37.4 minutes. The alternative is Hollywood Studios at opening, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom by 3:00, Magic Kingdom at night.

It costs you Animal Kingdom's early start, and it only works on days when Magic Kingdom stays open late. Cosmos Mariners and Upgraded Points both finished at Magic Kingdom with Animal Kingdom third.

How long does it take to get between Disney parks?

Allow at least an hour for each hop, the usual rule of thumb.¹⁰ Only two pairs of parks are joined by anything but a bus:

Resorts Gal times the Beach Club route at about 23 minutes, including an 8-minute walk from EPCOT's International Gateway. Theme Park Compass says the Magic Kingdom to Animal Kingdom bus drops at the park gates, skipping the ticket center. With her own car, Upgraded Points' writer spent about 15 minutes between most parks and 30 getting into Magic Kingdom.

How do you use Lightning Lane on a four-park day?

Buy one Multi Pass for the day. Its three advance selections must all be in the same park, but once you have used the first one you can book the next in any park, as long as your ticket has Park Hopper. Two published guides describe the rule.

Moving an unused selection to another park before you have ridden anything means paying the difference, Disney Tourist Blog warns.

Is a four-park day worth doing?

Once, for the right person. The accounts we found agree on the fun and on the cost to your feet. Upgraded Points' writer called it a thrill and said she would do it again.

The Cosmos Mariners party was glad to have done it and had no plans to repeat it; their low point came at 4:30 p.m., in June heat. The DISboards mother and daughter stopped at their Skyliner hotel for fresh socks between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

It suits repeat visitors, the last day of a longer trip, and teenagers who like a challenge. It is a poor use of a short first trip, when one park done properly beats four done in a hurry, and hard going with small children.
