Disney World Park Hopper: how it works in 2026, what it costs, and the days it pays for itself

How does park hopping work at Disney World in 2026?

Enter your first park, then go to any other at any time of day during park hours, Disney says. There is no afternoon start time any more.

Two conditions apply: the second park can close to hoppers when it is at capacity, in which case the My Disney Experience app sends a notification; and Annual Passholders and some non-dated tickets still need a park reservation for the first park of the day.

Dining reservations, Droid Depot, Savi's Workshop and other booked experiences are not guaranteed by the hop itself, Disney notes. You can book a table or join a walk-up list in the second park once you are inside.

How much does a Park Hopper cost?

Disney prices the Park Hopper by date, like the ticket itself. These ranges are from its own ticket calendar for adults, every date from 22 September 2026 to 31 October 2027, before Florida's 6.5% tax:

The add-on barely grows with the length of the ticket, so it is cheap per day on a long trip and expensive on a short one. Park Hopper Plus, which adds water park and other visits, costs more again: $105 to $122.50 on a two- or three-day ticket and $115.50 to $129.50 on four days or more.

A one-day hopper depends on the park you would otherwise buy. One-day tickets are priced per park, so the same hopper costs $47 to $80 above a Magic Kingdom ticket, $53 to $87 above Hollywood Studios, $63 to $92 above EPCOT and $78 to $108 above Animal Kingdom, the cheapest park to enter.

Disney confirms the published chart, with two exceptions. MouseSavers' chart, which includes tax, gives $80 to $101 on three days and $91 to $112 on four. Add the tax to Disney's figures and they match to the dollar.

It gives $91 to $112 on seven days as well, where Disney's calendar starts at about $96 with tax, and a flat $80 to $84 on one day, which fits none of the four parks. Our ticket discounts guide covers the ticket itself.

When is a Park Hopper worth it?

On days a park closes early, which is more of them than people expect. In our record of Disney's park hours for 15 September to 15 October 2026:

• Animal Kingdom — 6:00 p.m. on 22 of 31 nights
• Magic Kingdom — 6:00 p.m. on 16 party nights; 10:00 or 11:00 otherwise
• Hollywood Studios — 9:00 p.m. on 30 of 31 nights
• EPCOT — 9:00 p.m. every night

What is the best Park Hopper day at Magic Kingdom?

A party day. On Halloween and Christmas party days Magic Kingdom closes to day guests at 6:00 p.m., which is why many people avoid those days, and in our September record posted waits from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ran 33% below ordinary days.

With a Park Hopper you get both halves: the quiet Magic Kingdom day, then EPCOT for dinner and Luminous, or Hollywood Studios for Fantasmic!. Without one, a party day at Magic Kingdom ends at six. Our itinerary guide places these days in a week.

How long does it take to hop between Disney parks?

Allow at least an hour between any two parks, the rule of thumb in our transportation guide. Some pairs are quicker: EPCOT to Hollywood Studios is about 25 minutes on foot, and EPCOT to Magic Kingdom about 23 minutes by walking to the Beach Club and taking its Magic Kingdom bus.

Who should skip the Park Hopper?

Families with small children who will not last past the afternoon, and anyone on a trip of four days or more who is happy with one park a day: every park then gets its own day anyway. A one-day ticket is the worst value for it, at $80 or more for a single evening.

It earns most on a three-day trip that wants all four parks: Animal Kingdom's early close makes it the obvious half-day, leaving the evening for EPCOT.
