Happily Ever After fireworks: which nights it runs in 2026, where to watch, and whether the dessert party is worth it

Which nights does Happily Ever After run in 2026?

Not every night. In our record of Disney's own entertainment schedule, read on 15 September 2026, Happily Ever After is scheduled on 38 of the 72 nights from 15 September to 25 November and dark on the other 34. The gaps are Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights, when Magic Kingdom closes early to day guests, and from 8 November the Christmas party nights.

• Mid to late September — 9:30 p.m.
• October — 9:00 p.m.
• November — 8:00 p.m.

In that window it is scheduled most often on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Mondays, and missing most often on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Disney Tourist Blog notes the same squeeze: in party season, seven chances a week to see the show become three or four, and the nights it does run are busier. What is Happily Ever After like?

An 18-minute show of fireworks with projections on Cinderella Castle and down Main Street, U.S.A., Disney says; from parts of Frontierland and Tomorrowland you see the fireworks without the projections. It can be cancelled in bad weather.

On our February 2026 visit, watching from close to the castle, the projections were the highlight. The Starlight parade runs about an hour before, so on a parade night you can catch the end of it on the way to your spot.

Where is the best place to watch Happily Ever After?

Somewhere you can see the castle straight on, for the projections. Disney Tourist Blog's viewing guide rates three spots in the park:

Arrive 30 minutes to an hour before showtime; with the parade an hour before, camping out much longer is not practical, the guide says. Outside the park, the Transportation and Ticket Center dock and the monorail resorts' beaches see the fireworks without admission, but not the projections.

Is the Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert party worth it?

For a special occasion, yes; as value, it is a view and a seat you are paying for, not a meal. There are three versions, all at Tomorrowland Terrace, and park admission is extra:

The sources disagree on Seats & Sweets: Double Your WDW, reviewed in August 2026, lists $114 and $69, while Practically Perfect Pixie Dust, updated 30 August 2026, lists $119 and $75. Disney's own page quotes no price until you choose a date, and asks you to check in 60 minutes before the show.

What was the dessert party like when we went?

On Valentine's Day 2026 we booked the post-party at $99 each. The viewing area put us close to the castle, near enough to see all the projections, and there was room to sit and wait before the show, and we caught the tail of the Starlight parade on the way in.

Afterwards the desserts were small and themed: a Tiana treat, a Mickey custard, a Dole Whip dessert, plus cheese and fruit, with sparkling brut for adults. It made the night feel like an occasion, which is what it is for. If standing in a crowd for an hour is fine for your group, the show itself is free with admission.

What are the other ways to see Happily Ever After?

Two more paid ones. Disney's fireworks cruise, from $499 plus tax for a boat of up to 10, leaves from the Contemporary's marina and watches from the water, per Disney's page. The Contemporary's top-floor restaurant also sells a viewing package, Celebration at the Top, which Disney lists alongside the dessert parties.

Free options work too. The monorail resort beaches and the Transportation and Ticket Center dock see the fireworks over the water without park admission, though not the projections.⁷
