What do Disney World's paid add-ons cost?

Walt Disney World sells seven add-ons that people ask about by name, and they are charged on top of park admission, which is never included. Prices exclude tax unless a row says otherwise.

Five of the seven buy an object or an experience; two buy time. After Hours and a VIP tour are the only ones whose value can be checked against a stopwatch, and they are the two worth doing arithmetic on instead of deciding by feel.

Is Savi's Workshop worth it?

For the right person, yes, but not for the reason most people expect. At $274.99 you are buying a ceremony of 30–45 minutes performed in a group of about fourteen, with lighting, music and a script, and a lightsaber at the end of it. If the ritual is the point, it delivers.

If you want a lightsaber, the shops sell them for a fraction of that. And the constraint nobody leads with: only the named builder builds. One guest may accompany them and may not participate, so two Star Wars fans is $549.98, or one of them watching.

Is Droid Depot worth it?

Droid Depot is the better value of the two Galaxy's Edge builds and the easier one to recommend. At $129.99 you choose parts from a conveyor, assemble the droid yourself at a bench, activate it and take it home in a carry box, and unlike Savi's it suits younger children, because the build is hands-on, not ceremonial.

Personality chips and extras cost more, and the base droid is complete without them.

Only the builder may build, the same rule as Savi's, so two children means two bookings. Disney's full terms, the price history since 2019 and what the extras really cost.

Which Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique package should you book?

For a princess makeover, the $119.99 Fairy Tale Package, with a dress brought from home. Disney's page lists three packages for ages 3 to 12, read on 14 September 2026. The $59.99 Adventure Package is the knight look: a shirt, a sword and shield, and hair styled with gel, with no makeup or nail polish.

The $119.99 Fairy Tale Package is the whole visible princess transformation: shimmering makeup, nail polish, a choice of hairstyle, a sash, cinch bag and shirt.

The $229.99 Kingdom Package adds a Disney Princess gown, crown, wand and necklace. That $110 step is mostly a costume, and Adventures of a Disney Dad's advice is the same as ours: bring a dress and book the Fairy Tale Package for an identical makeover. Disney removed a long list of gowns in October 2025, so check the one your child wants still exists.

On a cruise the same three packages cost the same, with two captain looks added. Booking, prices and the rules at sea.

How do these compare with the rest of the trip?

Set against our own price record the scale becomes clear, and it is not the scale of a souvenir. Savi's Workshop at $274.99 is roughly two nights in a value resort, or between a third and a half of a seven-day park ticket, which runs $581 to $907 before tax. Droid Depot is close to a night at a moderate.

A single After Hours ticket at $199 is most of a value-season night at Pop Century. The cheapest private VIP tour, at $3,150, is more than a week's room and tickets for two people.

These are not extras in the pocket-money sense. Any one of the four dearest is a meaningful fraction of a family's whole admission budget, and two of them exceed it.

Which Disney World paid add-on gives the most for the money?

After Hours first, then Memory Maker for a large party, then Droid Depot. Ranking them against each other only works if you separate what they buy.

Among the things you take home, Droid Depot has the lowest price of the three builds, works across the widest age range and produces something children actually play with. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique's $119.99 Fairy Tale Package, with a dress from home, is next. Savi's Workshop is the most memorable and the least defensible on cost, which is a real trade, not a criticism.

Among the things that buy time, After Hours wins outright: at $159 in 2027 it is the cheapest way Disney sells a park with far shorter lines, and the value is checkable against the queues you would otherwise have stood in. A VIP tour does the same job far better and costs at least twenty times as much.

Memory Maker sits between the two categories — it buys neither a thing nor time, but it removes a job somebody in the party is otherwise doing all week.

Who should skip all of them?

Anyone on a first visit with limited days should skip the build experiences entirely. Savi's Workshop, Droid Depot and the Boutique each consume 30 to 60 minutes in the middle of a park day plus the money, and a first trip rarely has either to spare.

They are better on a return visit, when the headline attractions are already done and an afternoon can absorb an hour indoors.

Skip Memory Maker if there are two of you and you are not the kind of people who stop for photographers. Skip the dessert party if the ninety minutes of standing it saves is not a problem for your party. Skip a VIP tour unless you are close to ten people or have a specific reason to need one person running the day.

And anyone whose child wants the object and not the making of it is better served by the shop, at a fraction of the price.

Is Memory Maker worth it at Disney World?

Memory Maker is worth it above roughly eleven photographs and poor value below it, and that is the whole calculation. It costs $185 bought at least three days ahead and $210 after that, so waiting until you are in the park costs $25 for nothing. Individual PhotoPass downloads run about $17 each, which puts the break-even at eleven pictures.

The number that actually decides it is party size, not trip length. Memory Maker covers everyone in a Family and Friends group — up to 25 people — for one price. Two adults on a long weekend will struggle to reach eleven shots worth keeping.

Three generations travelling together will pass it on the first afternoon, and will get group photographs with nobody stuck behind the camera, which is the part no amount of phone photography replaces.

A one-day version costs $85 on Disney's own PhotoPass page; Theme Park Shark and Disney Tourist Blog still list it at $75, an older price. It only makes sense on a single park day with a large party, because $85 is already nearly half the full price for a fraction of the trip.

Is a Disney World fireworks dessert party worth it?

A fireworks dessert party is a viewing spot with food attached, and reading it as a meal is how people conclude it is bad value. At Magic Kingdom the pre-party and after-party run $99 to $109 per adult and $59 per child, tax included, for unlimited desserts, cheese, soft drinks and beer and wine, plus a reserved standing area for Happily Ever After.

Seats & Sweets is dearer at $132.06 per adult and $78.81 per child after tax, and it is the only version that gives you a table to sit at while the show runs.

EPCOT sells the same idea as dining packages instead of a party. Rose & Crown is $92 per adult and $41 per child; Spice Road Table is $81 and $31; the GEO-82 fireworks experience is $179 per person before tax and gratuity. All of them include a guaranteed view of Luminous and none of them include park admission.

The honest test is what you would otherwise do with the hour. Standing in a good spot on the hub for Happily Ever After is free and costs about ninety minutes of waiting with small children. If that ninety minutes is the problem, the party solves it. If it is not, you are paying restaurant prices for dessert.

Is Disney After Hours worth it?

After Hours is the one add-on on this page whose value can be measured, not felt, and for people who came to ride, it usually clears.

For 2027 a ticket costs $159 to $209 per person before tax depending on park and date — $189 to $209 at Magic Kingdom, $159 to $199 at Hollywood Studios and $159 to $189 at EPCOT — and buys three hours with a limited number of tickets sold, snacks and drinks included. The 2027 dates, and the lines on a night in our own record.

The three hours is the advertised figure and not the one that matters. Ticket holders may enter from 7:00pm, so the ticket really buys up to six hours in the park, three of them during ordinary evening operation. Anyone who reads it as three hours is comparing the wrong number against the price.

Set that against the alternative on this site's Lightning Lane page: Multi Pass at a Magic Kingdom average of $25 a person buys you priority on a handful of rides in a full park.

After Hours at $209 buys much shorter standby lines across the whole park with no booking to manage, though not empty ones: on the one After Hours night in our own record, at Hollywood Studios on 12 September 2026, Rise of the Resistance posted 19 minutes on average against 53 by day.

For a family who rides hard it is the better instrument; for a family who came for parades, characters and the castle at dusk it is money spent on the one part of the day they were not going to use.

Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members save $30 a ticket at Hollywood Studios and EPCOT and nothing at Magic Kingdom, which is worth knowing before assuming a discount applies.

How much is a Disney World VIP tour, and who is it for?

A private VIP tour is the top of the range by an order of magnitude, and Disney publishes the shape of it plainly: $450 to $950 an hour, a seven-hour minimum and a ten-hour maximum, for a party of up to ten including infants, bookable up to 60 days ahead. Park admission is not included and every guest still needs their own ticket.

The seven-hour minimum is the number that decides it. The cheapest possible booking is $3,150 and the dearest is $6,650, before anybody's park ticket. A guide plans the day, escorts the party and walks it past every standby queue.

The arithmetic only works one way. Split across ten people, a $3,150 tour is $315 each — more than After Hours and less than a day of Lightning Lane Premier Pass at its $449 peak, while removing every queue instead of some of them.

Split across a family of four it is $787 each for one day, which is more than a seven-day park ticket on its cheaper dates ($581 to $907 before tax).

This is a product for a large group in a peak week, or for a party with a mobility or medical reason to need one person managing the whole day, and it is very poor value for anybody else.

Where these prices come from

Every figure on this page is in our own price record with the date it was observed, alongside the resort rates and ticket prices used in the comparisons. Disney raises these prices periodically and rarely announces it — Savi's Workshop and Droid Depot have both increased more than once — which is exactly why the figures carry dates instead of being presented as current forever.

Two of the seven are priced by date, and a third by package, so the range is the fact and a single number would not be. After Hours moves between $159 and $209 by park and night in 2027; a VIP tour moves between $450 and $950 an hour; the Boutique's packages run from $59.99 to $229.99.

Anyone quoting one figure for those three is quoting one date or one package.
