Is it worth the money?

Yes on a savanna view, and this is the cheaper of the two ways to get one. About $128 a night buys a room where giraffe and zebra walk past at breakfast, and nothing else at Walt Disney World sells that at any price. Kidani charges roughly $211 for the same thing.

No on a resort view. $610 for a car-park outlook and a bus to every park is poor value against Saratoga Springs at $485 or Old Key West at $490, both of which have larger rooms.

Against Kidani specifically: Jambo has smaller studios, a much better dining line-up, three savannas instead of one, a busier lobby, and a cheaper savanna view. Kidani has bigger studios, covered parking, Sanaa, and quiet. Neither is the obviously better resort, which is unusual, and the honest advice is that the studio size and the dining pull in opposite directions.

Every room type, and who fits in it

Disney returns one room list for the whole property, covering Jambo House and Animal Kingdom Lodge and Kidani Village. It does not say which rooms belong to which, so neither do we. Straight from Disney’s own booking data, checked 2026-09-19. Occupancy excludes infants — Disney counts a baby in a cot separately, which is why a room that “sleeps 5” here can appear as 6 on their site.

Which room should you request?

The villas occupy part of the main lodge, so you step out of your room into the atrium — a six-storey thatched space that is a destination in itself, and busy from breakfast until the evening storytelling. Rooms off the atrium hear more than those facing outward.

Three savannas wrap the building, which is more than Kidani's one, with viewing areas at ground level and from the upper floors. Transport to every park is bus only, and Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the longer bus rides to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT on the whole property.

What has changed recently?

The villas opened inside Jambo House in 2009, the same year Kidani Village opened across the road, and the building itself dates from 2001. Rooms were refurbished in the early 2020s. Nothing structural has changed since; the live variable is pricing, and in 2026 the savanna-view premium here is about $128 a night against roughly $211 at Kidani for the same view of the same animals.

Better than Kidani for one reason: there is somewhere to go. The Mara has long hours, real seating and power; the atrium has armchairs and fireplaces; Victoria Falls is quiet in the afternoon. The studio itself has a kitchenette and a table but no desk, and a savanna-view room is the best window on property to work beside. What defeats a working week here is the transport, not the room — everything is a bus, and a long one.

Jambo has far better dining — Boma, Jiko and The Mara against Kidani's Sanaa and a pool bar — three savannas instead of one, and a cheaper savanna view at about $128 a night against roughly $211. Kidani has studios around 50 square feet larger, covered parking and a much quieter lobby. Dining and price favour Jambo; space and quiet favour Kidani.

How much extra is a savanna view at Jambo House?

About $128 a night in 2026 — roughly $738 against $610 for a resort view. That is notably less than the same upgrade at Kidani Village, which runs closer to $211, for a view of the same animals on shared savannas. If the animals are why you are booking Animal Kingdom Lodge, this is the cheaper door.

How big is a Jambo House villa studio?

About 316 square feet with a queen and a queen-size sleeper sofa, sleeping four. These are the smaller of the two Animal Kingdom villa buildings; Kidani's studios run roughly 50 square feet larger. Published figures for Kidani sometimes reprint 316, which is this building's number rather than Kidani's.

Is there quick service at Jambo House?

Yes — The Mara, which is one of the better counter-service restaurants at any villa resort and open long hours. This is a real advantage over Kidani Village across the road, which has no counter service at all and whose guests walk or shuttle here for it.

How do you get to the parks from Jambo House?

Buses only, to all four parks and both water parks. Animal Kingdom is close; Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are among the longer rides on property, and there is no boat, monorail or Skyliner. Driving is free for resort guests, though unlike Kidani there is no covered parking here.
