First thing in the morning, and it is not close. Animals are far more active and visible in the cool early hours; a midday safari frequently shows you sleeping shapes at a distance. The queue is shortest then too, which is unusual — normally the best time and the shortest wait are different.

What boarding is like

A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available, so a wheelchair user boards without transferring; an ECV user transfers to a wheelchair first. The truck is bumpy for the full eighteen minutes, which is the real consideration for anyone riding with back pain.

Our own record of this ride disagrees with Disney’s label above, and we have not yet resolved which is current. Treat Disney’s label as the rule and ask at the attraction before you queue.

Slow and bumpy across an unpaved track, with no drops. The vehicle jolts throughout, which is uncomfortable for anyone with back trouble on a twenty-minute ride. Nothing frightening; the animals are at a distance and behind concealed barriers.
