What it’s actually like

You sit still. Nothing frightening at all, despite the monsters. Loud in places. The only risk is being picked on gently by a character, which children love and self-conscious teenagers do not.

Can you send a joke to Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor?

Yes. A number is displayed in the pre-show queue and you text your joke to it; a handful get read out on stage each performance. Keep it short and clean — the ones that get used are the ones a monster can deliver in a sentence.

Will they pick on you at the Laugh Floor?

Possibly, and that is the point of it. The monsters find people in the audience through cameras and improvise with them by description — the man in the orange shirt, that sort of thing. It is gentle, but if being spoken to in public is unbearable, sit near the back rather than skipping it.

Is Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor the same show every time?

No, and that is unusual here. The structure repeats but the comedy is live and audience-driven, so the jokes, the volunteers and the texted material change with every performance.

Is the Laugh Floor suitable for young children?

Entirely — no height requirement, air-conditioned, seated, nothing dark or startling. Some of the humour aims over their heads, but the monsters and the physical comedy carry it for them.
