Disney Starlight parade: which nights it runs, one show or two, and where to watch
The short answer
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away is Magic Kingdom's nighttime parade, running since 20 July 2025 but never on party nights. In our record of Disney's schedule it ran twice when the park closed at 11 p.m. and once when it closed at 10. Watch the later show: it is far quieter.
What is the Disney Starlight parade?
A nighttime parade of lit floats inspired by the Main Street Electrical Parade, led by the Blue Fairy, with scenes from Peter Pan, Moana, Encanto, Frozen, Coco and more, Disney says. It debuted on 20 July 2025, and its soundtrack is on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, per Disney Parks Blog.
Sunshine Whispers puts it at about 20 minutes to pass. A MagicBand+ lights up along with it, Disney says. It can be cancelled for weather, and Disney lists times only in its schedule and app.
Which nights does the Starlight parade run in 2026?
Not on party nights. On Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Christmas party nights, Magic Kingdom closes to day guests at 6 p.m. and the parade does not run, on Disney's own schedule, and Disney Parks Blog says the same for the holidays.
In our record of Disney's schedule, read on 15 September 2026, Starlight was on 9 nights from 15 September to 3 October and off on every party night. From 4 October to 7 November Disney's schedule showed no performances at all, and nothing yet after that. Treat that as unfinished rather than a pause: see below.
Is the Starlight parade once or twice a night?
The count follows Magic Kingdom's closing time. Across the nights in our records from 15 September to 3 October 2026:
Magic Kingdom closes | Nights | Starlight |
|---|---|---|
11 p.m. | 6 | Twice, 8:15 and 10:30 p.m. |
10 p.m. | 3 | Once, 8:15 p.m. |
6 p.m., party night | 10 | None |
Every 11 p.m. night had two shows and every 10 p.m. night had one. One outlet reported the first single-show nights in January 2026, calling it a reduced schedule for quieter weeks.8 So check the park's closing time: it tells you the parade count before Disney posts it.
Why does Disney's schedule show no Starlight parade in October?
Probably because the times are not loaded yet. Disney's page for the parade reads "No performance today" whenever nothing is scheduled, and in our 15 September reading every night from 4 October to 7 November showed none, including 21 nights with Happily Ever After.
Disney Tourist Blog documented the same pattern in 2025: Disney posted Starlight times, removed them, and re-posted corrected ones weeks later, with the entertainment schedule lagging behind park hours. In our record, Magic Kingdom's non-party nights from 5 to 15 October close at 10 p.m., which on the pattern above means one show. Check again four to six weeks out.
Where is the best place to watch the Starlight parade?
Disney Parks Blog and it starts on Main Street, U.S.A. and heads toward Frontierland, the reverse of the day parade; Sunshine Whispers describes the opposite direction. Go by Disney.

Should you see the first or second Starlight parade?
The second. Disney Tourist Blog says to arrive 60 to 90 minutes early for the first parade on Main Street, and more for the hub, but only about 30 minutes, or less, for the second in Liberty Square or Frontierland. Sunshine Whispers agrees the later show is quieter.
On a two-show night in September 2026, that gives an easy evening: Starlight at 8:15 if you want it early, Happily Ever After at 9:30, then the 10:30 parade with a fraction of the crowd. Our Happily Ever After guide covers the fireworks.
Common questions
- What time is the Starlight parade at Magic Kingdom?
- In our record of Disney's schedule for late September 2026, 8:15 and 10:30 p.m. on nights the park closes at 11, and 8:15 only when it closes at 10. There is no parade on Halloween or Christmas party nights, when Magic Kingdom closes to day guests at 6 p.m.
- How long is the Disney Starlight parade?
- About 20 minutes to pass a given spot, Sunshine Whispers says. Disney does not publish a running time. Because the route begins on Main Street, U.S.A., spots there see the first float several minutes before Frontierland does.
- Is the Starlight parade every night?
- No. It skips every Halloween and Christmas party night, and from January 2026 some quieter nights have had one show rather than two.8 In our September 2026 record it ran twice when the park closed at 11 p.m. and once when it closed at 10.
- Where does the Starlight parade start?
- On Main Street, U.S.A., heading toward Liberty Square and Frontierland, according to Disney Parks Blog and Disney Tourist Blog, which is the reverse of Magic Kingdom's daytime parade. Sunshine Whispers describes it running the other way; Disney's own account is the one to trust.
