Fantasmic! at Hollywood Studios: fall 2026 showtimes, which show to pick, the best seats and whether the dining package is worth it

When is Fantasmic! on in fall 2026?

Nearly every night, but not always twice. In our record of Disney's own entertainment schedule, read on 15 September 2026, Fantasmic! is scheduled on 71 of the 72 nights from 15 September to 25 November; 20 October had no times published yet.

Mondays and Wednesdays are the one-show nights: 19 of the 21 in the window have a single show, most often at 9:30 p.m. Disney's own show page, read the same day, listed 8:30 and 10:00 p.m., which is exactly what our schedule has for 15 September. Our fireworks planner shows every night.

Why is Fantasmic! at 6:30 p.m. on some November nights?

Jollywood Nights, Hollywood Studios' ticketed holiday party, takes the evening. Disney Parks Blog lists its 2026 dates as 7, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 28 November, then seven December nights and 3 and 5 January 2027, from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with party guests let in from 5:30.

The five party nights inside our window are exactly the five nights our schedule has a single 6:30 p.m. Fantasmic!. Disney's party page lists Fantasmic! among the party's entertainment and lets ticket holders in from 5:30 p.m., so a day guest shares the one early show with the first party arrivals. There is no second chance that night, so plan the evening around it.

Should you see the first or second Fantasmic! show?

The second, when there are two. Sunshine Whispers, updated February 2026, says to always choose the later show, for smaller crowds and easier entry. One planning site adds a condition: pick the second when it starts at or after park closing, and the first if the second starts well before closing.¹¹

In fall 2026 that condition is met. In our record of Disney's park hours, Hollywood Studios closes at 9:00 p.m. on all 28 nights from 18 September to 15 October, and the 9:30 p.m. Fantasmic! starts half an hour after closing on every one. Ride until close, then walk to Sunset Boulevard.

Where are the best seats for Fantasmic!?

In the centre, not the front. Disney says the amphitheatre curves around the lagoon so every seat works, and that the first couple of rows may get wet. The guides go further, and differ on how far back:

Without a package, Sunshine Whispers says to arrive 30 to 45 minutes early. Disney opens the doors 90 minutes before each show and asks that your whole party enter together.

How many people does the Fantasmic! amphitheatre hold?

Close to 10,000, but the sources split the number differently. Disney Tourist Blog gives 6,900 seated and 3,000 standing. Wikipedia gives 7,900 seated and 2,000 standing.

The gap has a likely explanation. In September 2012 WDWFans reported Disney's plan to turn 1,000 of the rear standing places into seats, taking seating from 6,900 to 7,900; the report did not say when the work would happen, and we have not found Disney confirming it was done.

Both totals come to 9,900, so the practical point stands either way: most nights there is room, and the question is where you sit.

How much is the Fantasmic! dining package?

Disney's page, read on 15 September 2026, before tax and tip, with park admission extra:

You get an entrée and dessert, or the buffet, plus one drink, and a voucher for a reserved area. Seats inside it are first come, first served. The entrance is on Sunset Boulevard next to Beauty and the Beast; arrive at least 25 minutes before showtime.

Is the Fantasmic! dining package worth it?

On a one-show night, often; on a two-show night, rarely. The package only covers the first show when there are two, Disney Food Blog says, so it buys you the busier performance. If the later show starts after closing, the free seats are the better deal.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and the 6:30 p.m. party nights there is no easier show, and a guaranteed central seat is worth more. One magazine's verdict is the fair one: good value if Fantasmic!¹⁴ is a must and you would eat at one of these restaurants anyway. One planning site points to Sci-Fi as the cheapest.¹¹

What are the catches with the dining package?

The meal goes ahead even if the show is cancelled, Disney says; packages are not refunded, and Disney will seat you at another Fantasmic! within five days, park admission not included. Showtimes may also not be set until about three months out, it notes.

On the Disney Dining Plan it costs one table-service credit, except at The Hollywood Brown Derby, where Disney charges two. Sunshine Whispers says one credit throughout, so go by Disney's page. Prices creep: Hollywood & Vine rose from $81 and $51 to $82 and $53 in June 2026, and Sci-Fi was $57 in September 2024.

What is Fantasmic! about, and is it too scary for young children?

Mickey dreams he is the sorcerer's apprentice, and the villains turn the dream into a nightmare, Disney says, including Maleficent as a 40-foot dragon. There are scenes from Moana, Frozen 2, Mulan, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and The Lion King.

The heroes sequence was new when the show came back on 3 November 2022, with upgraded lasers, lighting and sound, per Disney Parks Blog.

The villain section is loud, dark and full of fire, so a child who is scared of loud bangs may want ear defenders. Sunshine Whispers ranks it first of 46 Disney World shows.

Can you use Lightning Lane or a wheelchair at Fantasmic!?

No Lightning Lane: Fantasmic! is not on Disney's list of Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane experiences, checked on 15 September 2026, so the dining package is the only way to reserve a seat. Disney labels it May Remain in Wheelchair/ECV, and our attraction page has the accessibility detail.

As an outdoor show, it can be cancelled in bad weather, and showtimes can change, Disney says. Check the My Disney Experience app on the day.
