What Lightning Lane options does Animal Kingdom have?

Three, as at every Disney World park, per Disney's own Lightning Lane page:

• Single Pass — Avatar Flight of Passage, the one ride Multi Pass leaves out
• Multi Pass — Up to three of eight: Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Na'vi River Journey, Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond! and Feathered Friends in Flight!
• Premier Pass — One entry to every Lightning Lane experience in the park, Single Pass included

Unlike Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom does not split Multi Pass into groups, so any three will do. After using your first, you can book another, subject to availability.

How much is Lightning Lane at Animal Kingdom?

Multi Pass and Premier Pass cost less here than at any other Disney World park, and prices move with the calendar. From our own record of Disney's daily prices, read each morning since 5 September 2026:

Premier Pass followed a weekly pattern through September: Monday to Thursday at $119, Fridays at $129 and weekends at $139. The Columbus Day weekend is the jump: Multi Pass reached $29 for 10 to 12 October, and Premier Pass $189 on 4 October. Magic Kingdom's Premier Pass ran $299 to $399 over the same weeks, so Animal Kingdom's is roughly half.

Which three Multi Pass rides should you book at Animal Kingdom?

Na'vi River Journey, Kali River Rapids and Kilimanjaro Safaris, with a twist on timing. Our own posted-wait record for 5 to 15 September 2026, park hours only, and Queue-Times' long-run averages for 2025 and 2026 put the rides in this order:

The two sources disagree on the top pick. Over years Queue-Times ranks the safari first, but in our September record Na'vi River Journey was the longest Multi Pass queue by 10 minutes on average. The three shows post no waits, so a Multi Pass slot on them buys nothing but a reserved seat.

When does each Lightning Lane save the most at Animal Kingdom?

Our record's hour-by-hour averages, 5 to 15 September 2026, in minutes:

The safari is a morning problem: about 50 minutes from 9 to noon, then 14 by 3 p.m. and single digits after 4. Book its Lightning Lane only if you must ride before noon, or ride it late for nothing. Kali River Rapids peaks at 1 p.m., so time that pass for the middle of the day.

Na'vi River Journey stays at 35 to 49 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., which is why it is the safest slot to spend.

Is the Flight of Passage Single Pass worth it?

For most people, yes. It was the longest queue in the park in our September record, averaging 53 minutes and reaching 80 at the 90th percentile, and it stays near an hour from park opening to mid-afternoon. At $15 to $16 in September, that is about 30 cents for each minute of queue it skips for most of the day.

It also sells out. In our record the Single Pass was gone by our afternoon check on Sunday 6 September, Labor Day on 7 September and Sunday 13 September, so on busy days buy it at your booking window rather than on the day. If you skip it, ride late: the posted wait fell to 41 minutes by 4 p.m. and 37 by 6.

Is Premier Pass worth it at Animal Kingdom?

Rarely. Premier Pass buys one entry to each Lightning Lane experience, but at Animal Kingdom most of them have short queues. Add up our September averages for everything it covers and the most it can save is about three hours: Flight of Passage 53 minutes, Na'vi 39, the safari 29, Kali 27, Everest 24 and Zootopia 13, with the shows adding nothing.

A Multi Pass for Na'vi, Kali and the safari plus Flight of Passage's Single Pass covered the four longest queues for $30 to $32 a person in September, against $119 to $139 for Premier Pass. The difference buys you Everest and Zootopia, which you can ride late for under 20 minutes.

Can you do Animal Kingdom without Lightning Lane?

More easily than any other Disney World park. One planning site's January 2026 one-day plan calls Lightning Lane unnecessary at Animal Kingdom, and our record shows why: the safari and Everest both drop under 20 minutes in the late afternoon, and Kali is under 15 before 11 a.m.⁵

The exception is Flight of Passage, which averaged more than 40 minutes in every hour from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you buy one thing, make it that. These are 11 days of posted waits in a quiet September, not a year; the long-run Queue-Times figures are the check, and they tell the same story at a higher level.
