Is it worth the money?

For a party of four who want the newest rooms at the Wilderness Lodge and the shortest walk to Artist Point, yes. $558 is the cheapest villa studio on the Magic Kingdom side of the property, and the lodge is among the best-themed resorts Disney has built.

For anyone else the comparison next door is unavoidable. Boulder Ridge is 356 square feet sleeping five at $561 — three dollars more for a fifth bed and eighteen square feet. Newness is the only thing Copper Creek offers a studio guest in exchange, and for most families it is not enough.

Where Copper Creek is genuinely unmatched is the top of its range. Boulder Ridge has no Grand Villas and no cabins, so if you need to sleep eight, or want a freestanding lakeside cabin, this is the only address at the Wilderness Lodge that has one.

Every room type, and who fits in it

Disney returns one room list for the whole property, covering Copper Creek Villas and Boulder Ridge Villas and Wilderness Lodge. It does not say which rooms belong to which, so neither do we. Straight from Disney’s own booking data, checked 2026-09-19. Occupancy excludes infants — Disney counts a baby in a cot separately, which is why a room that “sleeps 5” here can appear as 6 on their site.

Which room should you request?

Built into the main lodge, so the villas open onto the same atrium the day guests come to see. That is the appeal and the drawback in one: the theming is right outside your room, and so is the noise of it. Rooms facing the atrium hear more than those facing the woods.

The Cascade Cabins sit apart on the lakeshore and are the quietest accommodation at the resort by a distance.

Transport is a boat to Magic Kingdom and buses to everything else — no monorail, no Skyliner, no walking route to a park.

What has changed recently?

Copper Creek opened on 17 July 2017, carved into the main lodge, and the original villa wing was renamed Boulder Ridge at the same time. That is the change most likely to trip up a booking: two Disney Vacation Club resorts now share one lobby, one set of pools and one set of restaurants, with different room sizes, different occupancies and separate rates. Anything written before mid-2017 about "the Villas at Wilderness Lodge" describes Boulder Ridge.

Being in the main building is the advantage: the atrium's armchairs and fireplaces are down a flight of stairs, Roaring Fork keeps long hours, and Geyser Point has covered tables over the water. The studio itself has a kitchenette and a table but no real desk, and a sleeper sofa, not a pull-down, means the living space is the bed. One-bedrooms solve that with a separate room, a full kitchen and a washer-dryer.

Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge?

Copper Creek studios are 338 square feet sleeping four; Boulder Ridge studios are 356 sleeping five. In 2026 they cost $558 and $561 — three dollars apart. Take Boulder Ridge for space and party size. Take Copper Creek for newer rooms, or because you need a Grand Villa or a Cascade Cabin, which Boulder Ridge does not have.

What are the Cascade Cabins?

Freestanding cabins on the lakeshore at the Wilderness Lodge, with a floor plan echoing the Polynesian's overwater bungalows. Two-bedroom cabins run from about $2,768 a night in the cheapest 2026 season to $5,361 over Christmas, tax included. They are the quietest accommodation at the resort and are booked as their own category.

Why are there two villa resorts at the Wilderness Lodge?

Boulder Ridge opened in 2000 as the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, in a separate wing. Copper Creek was carved into the main building and opened on 17 July 2017, at which point the older wing was renamed. They share the lobby, pools and restaurants but have separate rates, room sizes and occupancies.

Is a Copper Creek studio noisy?

It depends which way it faces. The villas open onto the lodge's atrium, which is a public space people visit specifically to look at, and it stays busy into the evening. Rooms facing the woods are much quieter. Ask at booking, not at check-in.

How do you get to the parks from Copper Creek?

A boat to Magic Kingdom, buses to the other three parks and the water parks. There is no monorail, no Skyliner and no walking route to any park. The boat is one of the nicer approaches on property; the buses are unremarkable, which makes this a poor base for an EPCOT-weighted trip.
