Any time — it rarely has a wait of consequence. Midday is the best use of it, being fourteen air-conditioned minutes sitting down.

How the queue has changed

Its average posted wait was 18 minutes in 2017 and 10 in 2025–26 — down 44%. That is the 13th-longest average queue of the 16 attractions Queue-Times tracks at EPCOT.

A wheelchair-accessible boat is available, so a wheelchair user boards without transferring; an ECV user transfers to a wheelchair first. Ask at the entrance — the accessible boat is a separate load.

Our own record of this ride disagrees with Disney’s label above, and we have not yet resolved which is current. Treat Disney’s label as the rule and ask at the attraction before you queue.

What it’s actually like

Slow throughout, no drops, no darkness beyond a brief opening section. Nothing frightening at all. One of the mildest rides at Walt Disney World and entirely suitable for any age.

Can you stay in a wheelchair on Living with the Land?

Yes. Disney lists a Wheelchair Access Vehicle, so a wheelchair user boards without transferring; an ECV user changes to a wheelchair first. The accessible boat is a separate load, so say so at the entrance rather than joining standby.

Is Living with the Land worth doing?

More than its reputation suggests. It is fourteen minutes through four working greenhouses and a fish farm, and the produce is not set dressing: Disney grows more than 30 tons of fruit and vegetables a year here and raises around 5,000 lb of fish, served at the Garden Grill and Sunshine Seasons upstairs and at Coral Reef in The Seas pavilion. It is the only ride at EPCOT where what you are looking at ends up on a menu.

Is Living with the Land suitable for young children?

Entirely — no height requirement, no drops, no darkness that frightens. The honest caveat is length rather than intensity: fourteen narrated minutes about agriculture is a long time for a four-year-old who was promised a boat ride.

What is the best time to ride Living with the Land?

Any time. Twelve years of posted waits put it at ten minutes typical and twenty-one at its worst, so it is close to a walk-on all day and a poor use of a Lightning Lane slot.
