Turtle Talk With Crush
The short answer
Turtle Talk is a live interactive show where Crush talks to the audience in real time, taking questions from children by name. There is no height requirement, it lasts about fifteen minutes, and it is the most surprising thing at EPCOT.

What it’s actually like
It is improvised — a performer sees the audience and responds live, by name and by what a child is wearing. Sit children at the front if they want to be picked, and further back if they do not.
You sit on the floor or on benches and nothing moves. Nothing frightening. The only demand is on shy children, who may be picked to speak and will need to answer in front of the room.
Common questions
- How does Turtle Talk With Crush work?
- Crush is animated live and voiced in real time by a performer who can see the audience, so he picks children out, asks their names and answers what they actually said. It is the same technology behind Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and it holds up far better than a filmed show would.
- Can children ask Crush a question?
- Yes, and most performances take several. Children sit on the floor at the front and put their hands up; it is worth arriving a few minutes early so they can get a spot there rather than a seat at the back with the adults.
- Is Turtle Talk the same show every time?
- No. The structure repeats but the conversation is genuinely improvised around whoever is in the room, so two performances an hour apart are different — which is why it is one of the few things at EPCOT worth doing twice in a day.
- Is Turtle Talk only for young children?
- It is aimed at them and adults consistently enjoy it more than they expect. Crush is quick, and the funniest exchanges are usually with a grown-up who thought they were only there as an escort.
