Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
The short answer
Coronado Springs is the moderate with a fifteen-storey tower and the best food in its tier — Toledo on the top floor and Three Bridges in the middle of the lake. Rooms run from about $294 to $530 in 2026. It is also a convention resort, which is exactly as noticeable as that sounds.

We haven’t timed this resort yet. A door-to-gate time goes here once we have walked the route with a stopwatch at least five times — a single reading hides the variation that actually makes people miss a breakfast reservation. How we measure.

Who it’s right for
Adults, couples, and anyone working during the trip — the convention infrastructure makes this the best resort under deluxe prices to actually get things done in. Also anyone who cares about resort dining, where Coronado beats the entire moderate tier and much of the deluxe one.
Who it’s wrong for
Families wanting immersive theming. Coronado is handsome, not transporting, and children notice the difference between this and Port Orleans. It is also the wrong resort if convention crowds would bother you — this is the only Disney resort where you regularly share a lift with a name badge.
Is it worth the money?
For the food, yes, and that is an unusual reason to pick a resort. Toledo and Three Bridges are better than anything at any other moderate and better than several deluxe restaurants. For everything else it is a large, well-run, slightly corporate resort, and if you are travelling with children who want theming, Port Orleans or Caribbean Beach will land better for the same money.

What the rooms are actually like
314 square feet in the village casitas and ranchos, or a more modern room in Gran Destino Tower. The Tower rooms are the newer product and feel it, but they are also further from the pools and the village character, so the better room is not automatically the better stay.

Which room should you request?
The resort circles Lago Dorado and runs internal buses between villages, which tells you the scale. Gran Destino Tower holds the lobby, the restaurants and the convention traffic; the casitas are closest to it, the ranchos and cabanas furthest. This is an active convention hotel, so lobbies and lifts can be full of lanyards at 8am, which is a different atmosphere from any other Disney resort.

What has changed recently?
Gran Destino Tower opened in July 2019, adding 545 rooms, Toledo and Dahlia Lounge, and changing the resort from a sprawling convention property into one with a genuine centre.

- How much is Coronado Springs?
- From about $294 for a Village standard room in the cheapest 2026 season to $530 for a Tower water view in peak, rack rate including 12.5% tax. Note that those two figures are different room types — the range spans the resort, not one product.
- Is Gran Destino Tower worth it at Coronado Springs?
- For the room, yes — it is the newest accommodation in the moderate tier. For the location it depends: the Tower is closest to the restaurants and the lobby but furthest from the village pools and the resort's character. Newer is not automatically better here.
- Is Coronado Springs good for families?
- Adequate, not good. The Dig Site pool with its Mayan pyramid is a strong feature, but the resort is large, the theming is restrained, and the convention traffic changes the atmosphere. Port Orleans and Caribbean Beach are more fun at the same price.
- What is Toledo at Coronado Springs?
- A tapas, steak and seafood restaurant on the sixteenth floor of Gran Destino Tower with the best view of any Walt Disney World resort restaurant — you can see the fireworks from several parks. It is the strongest reason to stay here and worth booking even if you are not.
