There is no best Walt Disney World resort. There is a cheapest, one that sleeps the most, and a handful you can reach two parks from without waiting for a bus — and they are different hotels. Each section below says what it sorted on before it says who won, so you can disagree with the rule rather than the result.

A campsite is a pitch, not a room. It is on the list because it is genuinely the cheapest way to sleep on Disney property, not because it competes with a hotel.

One campsite and then a wall. Every ROOM on this list is a Deluxe, and the cheapest of them is more than three times the cheapest room on property — so apart from pitching a tent there is no inexpensive way to skip the Magic Kingdom bus.

Nothing here is a judgement about whether a resort is nice. We have not published photographs of the rooms, we have not timed the walk from any of these front desks to a park gate, and we hold no guest-satisfaction scores — so the sections above rank on price, capacity, Disney’s own transport routes and a pool count, and on nothing else. Where a resort is worth the money is answered one page at a time, on the resort pages themselves, which is where the verdicts live.
