Walt Disney World in February
The short answer
February at Walt Disney World averages a high of 75°F and tops 90°F on 0% of days, among the three coolest months. Some rain falls on 40% of days, but only 11% get a quarter inch or more.
Should you go to Walt Disney World in February?
The best weather of the year and, on current figures, the worst queues. Highs in the low seventies, almost no rain, and the lowest chance of a day over 90°F — if your definition of a good day is walking ten miles without wilting, February is the answer.
It is also, on the queue record, the busiest month of the twelve — and that is a recent change we got wrong ourselves before checking it. Mid-winter breaks have moved demand into January and February while summer has emptied out, so the old advice that February is a quiet shoulder month is simply out of date.
That does not make it a bad month. It makes it a month you pay for in queueing rather than in heat, which for a lot of people is the better trade. The gap between the Presidents Day crowd and the Princess Half — roughly the first week — is still the value window inside it.

These are not crowd levels. We do not publish a crowd index, because we do not have the years of wait data an honest one needs. The label describes the strength of the demand drivers named in the last column — school holidays, race weekends, ticketed party nights and rate seasons — every one of which you can check against a calendar. Where a busyness ranking is another publication’s judgment, it is attributed to them by name.
How long the queues actually are in February
On Queue-Times’ crowd index, February now runs at 60.8%, which makes it the busiest of the twelve months for queueing. Before 2020 the same month ran at 69.2% — 8 points higher.

This is queue length, not attendance. Crowd level is Queue-Times’ own index, built primarily from posted wait times, where 0% is the quietest day in their record since 2014 and 100% the busiest. Disney reported attendance up 3% in the quarter to June 2026 while average waits fell — reopened rides, new parades pulling people out of queues, longer hours and less Lightning Lane inventory all shorten a line without removing anyone from the park. A low number here means you will queue less. It does not mean the walkways will be empty.

What’s actually running in February
The Festival of the Arts runs through most of the month and ends in the last week — 23 February in 2026. The Disney on Broadway concert series is the strongest thing in it and is included with EPCOT admission, though the dining packages that guarantee a seat are not.
The Princess Half Marathon Weekend closes the month, and it changes the character of the resorts more than the parks — expect early buses and a lot of tutus.
Who February is right for
Anyone who overheats. This is the month with the fewest hot days and the least rain, and for guests who found a summer trip unbearable it is the single best correction available. Also good for couples, for photography, and for anyone who wants EPCOT at its most interesting without Food & Wine crowds.
And who should pick another month
Swimmers, again — February water is cold, and the winter water-park rotation usually still has one of the two shut. Families locked to a mid-winter break week, who will land squarely on Presidents Day. And anyone hoping for long park hours; February evenings close earlier than summer ones.
The mistake people make booking February
Assuming "February is quiet" applies to the whole month. Presidents Day week is not quiet, and northeastern winter breaks stack on top of it. The first week and the week after the holiday are the ones that earn February its reputation.
