Walt Disney World in March
The short answer
March at Walt Disney World averages a high of 80°F and tops 90°F on 5% of days. Some rain falls on 33% of days, but only 9% get a quarter inch or more, among the three driest months.
Should you go to Walt Disney World in March?
March has the best weather-to-crowds trade in the first half of the year and the worst timing risk. Flower & Garden opens, the days are warm without being hot, and the parks stay open late — and then spring break lands on top of all of it.
The problem is that there is no single spring break. Central Florida districts break early, the northeast and midwest break later, and Easter moves. The result is a month whose busiest fortnight shifts year to year, which makes March the month where checking the actual dates matters most.

These are not crowd levels. We do not publish a crowd index, because we do not have the years of wait data an honest one needs. The label describes the strength of the demand drivers named in the last column — school holidays, race weekends, ticketed party nights and rate seasons — every one of which you can check against a calendar. Where a busyness ranking is another publication’s judgment, it is attributed to them by name.
How long the queues actually are in March
On Queue-Times’ crowd index, March now runs at 57.6%, which makes it the 3rd busiest of the twelve months for queueing. Before 2020 the same month ran at 82.8% — 25 points higher.

This is queue length, not attendance. Crowd level is Queue-Times’ own index, built primarily from posted wait times, where 0% is the quietest day in their record since 2014 and 100% the busiest. Disney reported attendance up 3% in the quarter to June 2026 while average waits fell — reopened rides, new parades pulling people out of queues, longer hours and less Lightning Lane inventory all shorten a line without removing anyone from the park. A low number here means you will queue less. It does not mean the walkways will be empty.

What’s actually running in March
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival opens in early March — 4 March in 2026, running all the way to 1 June — and it is the longest of the four festivals by some distance. Topiaries throughout World Showcase, outdoor kitchens, and the Garden Rocks concert series most evenings.
Park hours lengthen through March as the season turns, and evening entertainment moves later with them.
Who March is right for
Anyone who wants warm evenings and long park hours without July heat, and who can travel in the first week or is willing to pay peak prices for the rest. Flower & Garden is the most pleasant festival to simply walk around in.
And who should pick another month
Anyone crowd-averse who cannot travel early in the month. Mid-to-late March is among the busiest stretches of the year and the prices follow it. Also wrong for anyone assuming spring break is a fixed week — it is not, and a booking made on that assumption can land on exactly the fortnight it meant to avoid.
The mistake people make booking March
Treating "spring break" as one week. It is a rolling six-week wave across different states, and Easter moves independently of it. Before booking March or April, look up both the Easter date and the break weeks for the large feeder districts rather than assuming last year’s pattern repeats.
